I'm only leaving one star because I'm not sure that it will let me put 0. Be prepared for the biggest hassle when dealing with memberships here. I signed up, signed a year contract and fulfilled my contract. My husband went in to talk to someone about a membership and was billed for a Personal Trainer (which he did not want or sign up for). After many attempts with phone calls and visits to the Cedar Park location trying to get his money deposited back into his account, he finally received a check in the mail. His membership was cancelled and In the meantime his account was being deducted for purchases (for some sort of drinks) that my husband did not purchase. He was now told that he was not allowed to get a refund on drinks purchased. So I suppose they can charge you for something that you did not purchase but they can't give you the money back for it.

Due to an income change in our household, I went to the location to cancel my membership. The girl there told me that I would have to sign a 30 day cancellation notice but that instead of cancelling the account, I should put a freeze on the account. This would still have the 30 day notice, then I would not have to pay membership fees for 3 months. If things changed over the next few months, I wouldn't have to pay new membership fee to get started again. If I did decide to continue the cancel, my last month's fees were paid when I signed up and all I needed to do was call in 30 days before the freeze would expire and I would be good to go without paying anything else. In the meantime here we are two months later and Gold's Gym is still deducting membership fees from my account. The lady that spoke to in the corporate office now wants to take the past two payments and credit them to an account that I no longer can afford to pay for and should have been stopped over a month ago. When I told her to go ahead and just put in the cancellation like I tried to in the beginning, she is now saying I won't receive any of the money that they continued to take out of my account back. So I guess we pay the last month's fees twice.

I think if this business could get their customer service and membership department together, they would have a decent business. If you are reading these reviews and are thinking about signing up, you might want to look somewhere else for a decent gym. As for me, I will never sign up with Gold's gym again. I will take my money elsewhere.

Bad Business...

All I can say is Wow! If you like being disrespected everytime you walk in to get a workout. Then this is the gym for you. I don't know where they train their managment, but even my dogs know not to bite the hand that feeds them! There are so very many consumer complaints about Gold's please read some, and I don't mean just the ones posted on yellow pages. You'll find some very intresting reading. Although the review by W1ley is pretty angry, but accurite. I have seen a lot of snobbery, and unless your kid is of average height for a teen. They don't want them around, and they will resort to rudeness. I won't go into further detail it still bothers me greatly.

Causey doesn't care!

I have been treated like a steaming pile of dog sh*! from the day after I signed over my soul to satan (Gold's contract). I stuck with it through the mistreatment for a while because of a friend. We even signed our daughter's up. A month later they voided my daughters contract due to her being small for her age, and I couldn't find her b.c. My daughter hated their idea of a 'Play Room'. What 10 yr. old wants to sit with tots and veg on movies when they could be active? Currently in yelling matches with corp. over why they're still trying to take money from my account when my contract was up in April. GOLD'S SUCKS!!! One of my husbands friends came up to the gym ready to sign contracts & imediately got kick off of the equipment for what he was wearing (long denim shorts and a t-shirt). We asked to be shown the 'Dress Code' they pointed to a bulletin board. My husband and I both searched that board. Did we find it? I think you all know the answer to that. WAS HE KICKED OFF DUE TO THE WAY HE WAS DRESSED, OR WAS IT THE COLOR OF HIS SKIN? If you don't fit into a size 5 they don't think you should have the right to breath! The G.M. of the Leander location wouldn't even shake my hand when we were called to his office to tell us that he voided my kiddos contract. Would you conduct yourself like that? What kind of example does that set for employees? GOLD'S HAS SOCIALLY INEPT STAFF!!!

DON'T GO IN, TURN AROUND! Don't be bent over by these sorry excuses for human beings.
