Perio Protect is not always an alternative for traditional surgery for gum disease but, in many cases, it can reduce the need for surgery.

Deep Cleaning
We will clean your implant to eradicate the bacteria. For a mild case, we will do this with a deep cleaning; for a chronic infection, Dr. Moskowitz will use our sophisticated dental laser. The laser is gentle and treatment with it is comfortable for the patient. Diseased tissues are targeted and removed without disrupting healthy tissue.

Dentures
Traditional dentures have long been considered the go-to option for full-arch teeth replacement, but they are far from an ideal solution for many reasons. One of the main drawbacks is the minimal chewing power traditional dentures provide. Not being able to fully chew one’s food can also lead to other health problems. Food that is under-chewed sits in the digestive tract and causes irritation. The nutrients in under-chewed food cannot be absorbed well, and this can lead to colitis and problems with digestion.

Osseous Surgery
Periodontal osseous surgery can halt the progress of infection in the deeper areas of the gums. It can also reinforce structural support around the teeth, thereby increasing a patient’s chances of keeping their natural teeth. This is the goal that Dr. Moskowitz works towards.

When needed, Dr. Moskowitz can even use gum and bone grafting techniques to rebuild tissue that has been lost to the disease, providing a stable foundation for teeth to remain healthy and firmly in place.

Orthodontics
Traditional methods of straightening teeth involve moving just your actual teeth. Accelerated orthodontics uses a technique where the doctor will gently create vertical grooves in the gums and outer edge of bone between your teeth. The purpose of this procedure is to allow the gums and bone to move along with the teeth, resulting in faster teeth straightening.
Braces
Sometimes teeth need orthodontic treatment to get them into their proper place, but the teeth have failed to properly emerge from the gums enough for braces to be attached. Dr. Moskowitz gently uncovers unerupted teeth from the gums so that an orthodontist can bring the teeth into correct alignment.
