Fireplaces
Marble is a beautiful surface but one that is softer than the granite and quartz slabs. Due to its composition it can have a higher porosity which can allow it to etch or scratch if not cared for properly. This is a stone that we recommend sealing regularly to protect its original condition. In some applications, people prefer to let the surface accumulate a natural patina over time to enjoy this surface in a traditional design. We often recommend a matte finish for the slab selection as it will wear better than the polished. It is also heat resistant, so a good choice for bakers and fireplace surrounds.
