Pediatric Care

During much of the 20th Century, these two specializations were the primary care physicians. Also, during this time, many additional specializations arose to treat specific conditions such as cancer, heart disease, diabetes, arthritis, and more.

A primary care physician or PCP is your main doctor, the one you see for nearly every problem. Suppose your insurance company assigns the PCP, and you do not like the one assigned. In that case, you may request another, provided the requested PCP accepts the insurance and is accepting new patients.

Sondra began taking care of the healthcare needs in her community in 2007 when she joined a medical group caring for orthopedic patients, in 2012 she transferred to primary care for the same organization, where she took care of patients health care needs such as hypertension, thyroid issues, diabetes, and asthma. She expanded her care while still seeing orthopedic patients. In 2012 she started seeing patients in an urgent care setting, treating patients with work injuries while continuing her primary care practice.

During his residency, he has been a recipient of two awards from the American Academy of Family Practitioners and one award from Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Dake moved to Roswell after graduation. He loves to take care of all spectrum of patients and conditions from the newborns to the elderly, from adolescent health to women’s health, from acute emergencies to chronic illnesses, from sports injuries to minor surgeries, from headaches to psychiatric problems, from cancer screenings to wellness visits, from Family Planning to Menopause. He is trained and certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Advanced Trauma Life Support, Advanced Wilderness Life Support, Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics and Mass Casualty Management. He is a member of numerous professional organizations and has served on some of the committees as an advocate for the patients and physicians. Dr. Dake is licensed by the New Mexico Medical Board. He believes in integrated health care and Patient-Centered Medical Home. Dr. Dake believes in keeping families healthy and provides compassionate care with empathy when sick.

Internal Medicine
Starting in the late 1800s, the field of medicine began to take a decidedly scientific approach to heal people. Physicians began to seek to understand better the human body’s internal workings and the diseases that afflict people. Thus, Internal Medicine began, but before long, another specialization appeared.

Neurology
Dr. Samara is a Board Certified Neurologist who provides access to care for patients in Southeastern New Mexico suffering from neurological disorders ranging from a headache to seizures. Providing treatment to enhance day-to-day functionality for patients that lead to improvement in the quality of life and performance of activities of daily living. Using the latest in diagnostic modality, drug therapy, and technology our Neurologist can help patients obtain a higher standard of living.
Epilepsy
Dr. Heba Samara is Board Certified in Neurology. She brings a wealth of neurological expertise to the Kymera Team. Dr. Samara received her Doctor of Medicine degree from Lebanese American University and her Bachelor of Science degree from the American University of Beirut in Lebanon. She enjoyed spending three years doing research in epilepsy before joining the neurology residency program at Wayne State University in Michigan. She graduated from the program as a chief resident.

As can be seen from the above, Endocrinologists may be involved in a number of conditions related to how well glands are functioning. Additionally, endocrinologists are often involved with cancer treatments, most common being Thyroid cancer.

Radiology
When a patient visits Kymera Primary Care, they are in good hands. They are also right where they need to be should they need a specialist. Virtually all lab and radiology tests can be handled in-house, eliminating the need to travel elsewhere and, in many cases, make a second appointment for results.

Orthopedics
Roswell Primary Care Physician, Dr. Vyas Dake, MD, a Board Certified Family Medicine Physician joined Kymera Independent Physicians in the summer of 2011 to provide comprehensive care including Preventive, Chronic and Urgent care to the community of Roswell. He has been a Physician since 2001 and over the years he has gained varied experience having worked in Emergency Medicine, Critical Care Medicine, Family Medicine and was training in Orthopedics before he joined residency in Family Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.
