Dr. Shelton is, by far, the very best bet I’ve ever taken my pets to. He always gives his idea of what he thinks an issue is, and follows up with bloodwork/tests, and he has always been right. He and his team are very professional and the best care of the animal is primary, without doing unnecessary procedures or tests. Highly recommend!
I took my cat in a vet on Smokey Park Highway and spent about $1500 within a 2-3 month period to be informed they didn't know what else to do and I needed to get an endoscopy done on my cat; probably had cancer. Went to Smokey Park Veterinary Hospital and Dr. Shelton immediately identified the problem and now my cat is on a totally different path for just a fraction of what I spent at Candler Vet.

Provided by SuperpagesWhat we (my big neurotic rescue dog, feral kitty, strays I drag in, all my Aunt Louise's "unadoptable rescues" of the past and me and my husband) do at Smokey Park Vet--- giggle with and get some candy from the very welcoming staff; lug our 95 pound dog who won't walk on linoleum to the scales; wait a short while in an exam room; Doc Shelton walks in and we begin, again, the VERY BEST VET CARE experience to be had in this neck o the woods. PS: Do Not Tell Dr. Shelton I get candy from the staff. Really. Don't.

Provided by SuperpagesDr Shelton and his wonderful staff really care about their patients. My dogs and cats all responded to him in a very positive way. The receptionist calmly worked me in when one of my dogs had an emergency. My big old hound stood up on her hind legs and put her paws on the Doctor's shoulders when she met him. I believe animals know who cares about them. CB

Provided by SuperpagesLove Dr. Shelton, he really knows what he is doing and explains things in a manner that we fully understand. I am so pleased with him and his wonderful staff.He is the only Vet in Candler and surrounding areas that I trust and recommend to my family and friends.

Provided by SuperpagesDr. Shelton is OUTSTANDING! He has helped many of our rescued animals. I am currently living in WV and have been to 3 different veternarians and cannot find the quality of service that Dr. Shelton provides.

Provided by SuperpagesI worked for Dr. Shelton for close to 10 years,and he is one of the best vets i have ever worked for. Their is not any animal he could not fix(providing the animal could be fixed] .........He is ..........,excellent at orthopedic surgery, all kinds of exotics,and also wildlife. He has a very kind heart and a very very serious mind. However he would use those big college words lol and I would have to interpret to the clients for him ........Most of all our clients were very happy and satisfied when they picked up their animals THANKS DR. SHELTON
