Mr. Lynn has a statewide litigation and counseling practice. As one of Vermont’s most experienced trial attorneys, he has tried well over 100 jury trials, including catastrophic injury, wrongful death, employment discrimination, wrongful discharge, brain injury and multi-million dollar contract claims. Mr. Lynn also has an extensive arbitration practice. Mr. Lynn is AV peer rated by Martindale Hubbell.

Ms. Shea joined the firm in 2013, and focuses her practice on labor and employment and education law. She counsels clients on a wide variety of educational matters, including special education and disabilities law, peer harassment, and discrimination. She also regularly advises clients on general labor and employment issues, such as wage and hour law, parental and family leave, and employment discrimination. She represents clients before administrative bodies and in state and federal courts.

Sexual Harassment
Ms. Lynn counsels Vermont public school districts and supervisory unions, semi-independent schools and Vermont colleges and universities on a variety of issues including student discipline, student disability/special education law, and civil liability. She has extensive experience in the defense of school districts in cases brought under Vermont’s peer harassment statutes both before Vermont and federal courts as well as the Vermont Human Rights Commission and U.S. Dept. of Education’s Office of Civil Rights. She participated in the 2012 and 2015 updates to the Vermont Agency of Education Model Policies and Procedures related to hazing, harassment and bullying and provides training to school administrators and staff on those policies and procedures. Ms. Lynn also provides trainings to educational administrators on various topics, including student rights, special education, and discipline. She performs college level Title IX sexual harassment investigations and is approved panel counsel to conduct those investigations through United Educators. She also counsels k-12 and post-secondary institutions regarding Title IX compliance (including but not limited to the conduct of investigations and handling of grievance hearings).

Ms. Blackman is Chair of the Vermont Judicial Conduct Board (and has served as its Special Counsel), and occasionally serves as a Small Claims Judge in Superior Court.
