Suspicious DUPLICATE Neg. Reviews...this office is AWESOME!!

I call Shenanigans...3 reviews within a few weeks, all saying practically the same thing??? Vendetta much??Dr. Ryan's office is THE BEST care we've ever had for our dogs...bar none. In the past, I've had a labrador receive a botched spay (in Calif.) which made her nip & bite at anyone who came near her forever afterward. We've also had a Jack Russell have an allergic reaction to Coronavirus vaccine and end up at the ER vet 12 years ago in Peoria. We were referred to Dr. Ryan's office after pricing out a spay at Banfield which, with their "discount plan" (which you pay hundreds up front for) was many hundred more than Dr. Ryan's office. I liked that it was a small office, b/c I worry about those large corporate vets being "surgery machines" doing spays assembly-line style. We've since had 3 girls done here (spay) as well as another medically-necessary surgery, and now all 3 with a specialized surgery that not very many vets at all still even offer. I priced out this surgery around the valley, and was quoted from $1100 to over $1500 each dog. Dr Ryan's office price was $100. No zeros missing there...a hundred bucks. Plus meds. And every surgery has been a quality, top-notch surgical job (I have 22 years in human medicine). I don't trust just anyone with my babies, and this office takes excellent care of them.To address the office staff accusations, I have always found them to be professional and efficient. When I call, they remember my name, and those of the actual patients. They never nickel & dime you on yearly meds (cheaper than 1-800-petmeds!) I am HIGHLY suspicious of the reviewer who described the progress of an animal's surgery, claiming multiple needle sticks. I have never known a vet office to allow a "parent" in the O.R. during surgeries! As for coming awake twice...would you rather they have given the animal too much anesthesia and have it die? Anesthesia on small animals is an extremely fine line between clinically sedated and toxic (dead) so a good vet errs on the side of caution. Similarly, when small animals are NPO (no food/water after 10pm) it can be difficult to find a vein on a mildly-dehydrated animal until the IV fluids kick in. I still find it hard to believe they would let anyone sit there, poking their head into the O.R. every few minutes for a status update. Again...Vendetta much??

Vet killed my dog

If you love your pets, do not take them here. Dr. Ryan killed my five year old boxer. I filed Complaint with the vet board and they cited her with violations of gross negligence, failure to refer to an emergency animal clinic for overnight observation, ethical and medical records violations. You absolutely do not want to bring your pets here. I wish to God I had not ever brought my dog here.

If I could give 0 thumbs up I would.

We have taken all of our animals here for years and have been very satisfied. This past year everything changed. The office staff are beyond rude and disinterested in even pretending to behave professionally. It seems to be too much to ask for them to even smile or look me in the eye. I would probably put up with nasty office people and techs if the care my animal received was top notch, but found that to be lacking as well. It has nothing to do with wanting a "foo foo office", I just expect professional staff and competent care, neither of which I received.

***FORMER CLIENT***

I just moved back to Buckeye and got a HUGE shock when I called into Buckeye Vet Services to make an appointment, it use to be that the people answering the phones were happy, polite and would do anything to get an appointment for you but not now!!! The girl was obnoxcious, rude and inconsiderate. I needed the appointment right before closing which use to be no problem, well obviously they don't need the business because she told me they did NOT take anything after 5:00 even for simple shots. When I asked where the other office girl was she got nasty and told me it was none of my business and I would have to settle for her, which I did not! I decided to confront her and when I went in personally to ask why she was so horrible, I was asked to leave the office. I have driven by several times since and to no surprise there were no cars or maybe 1 or 2 when you use to have to park across the street at times. Bring back the happy smiling employees and maybe the clients will come back also.

Used to be a good vet

I used to take all my animals there. Now it seems that their prices keep going higher and the people working there dont even know how to smile, especially the front desk person.Used to be great prices compared to others, now they are about the same with outdated equipement and staff that is not accredited or professionally trained. I won't go there anymore. Also found out they charge different prices to different people for the same procedures.....I guess they dont realize that people do talk in the waiting room. Hope they turn it around like it used to be, but I doubt it. Sad really, used to love taking my pets there

An Honest "Country" Vet

If you are looking for a "foo-foo" office with scented towels, toe nail polish for your dog and designer coffee in the lobby, this is not the office for you. If you are looking for honesty, a fair price, and don't care for sales techniques that play on your emotions, this is where you should come. I have seen this veterinarian go above and beyond normal measures to help the local authorities with seriously injured pets and think very highly of her! The staff is incredibly busy but has never failed to be compassionate, fair, and smiling when they have every reason not to.

Dont recommend

I highly dont recommend this place. The office manager is rude and unprofessional. The owner/main vet is a butcher in my opinion. I took my dog in for a normal surgery that other vets take 20 minutes. It took this vet 2.5 hours! The vet spent the first 30 minutes trying to get the needle/catheter in my dogs leg. The vet could not find the vein for half an hour, poking and poking until one leg was a bloody mess then went to the other leg and after many attempts found the vein. The vet looks at us and says her assistants usually do this. The surgery took forever, my dog came awake twice during the surgery, so they kept giving more drugs during the surgery. My dog was depressed for 2 weeks after. I care too much about my dogs health to go to this place!

I had to have my dog put down and I had just moved to the area. I did not know what to expect from this "small town" veterinarian, but I was pleasantly surprised. They were very sympathetic to my situation and handled everything with dignity. All of the employees were very nice to deal with. I would recommend them to anyone.

Not to be Overlooked

Good, professional service. Good, fair prices. Not inflated like most clinics these days...but still provide excellent service without charging an arm and a leg.
