The Door Expo

I had very negative experience with Door Expo on Coney Island ave and ave T in Brooklyn, especially dealing with store owner Yriy . I bought 2 doors and made a second mistake ( first was going there ) by paying cash . When I unwrapped the packages the doors were wrapped in , I noticed that both doors were damaged in different places . It was not a major damage but still unacceptable for me considering I paid $900 for both doors . I called the store and informed them about this damage and was told I need to speak with Yuri who did not return my call on that day. I came to the store on the following day and sales associate called him for me. The store owner Yury said he needs to come to my house to see those doors. After he saw them he called me to tell me that I was the one who damaged the doors and he is not responsible for them once they leave his store . The damage was covered under wrappers and I did not remove wrapping in the store for the purpose of transporting these doors . I only noticed them after I brought these doors home and unpacked them . I asked him to exchange the doors for same undamaged ones or refund me the money ( unfortunately I paid cash). He suggested to install these damaged doors and touch them up once they installed. I thought it was ridiculous considering I paid $450 each doors . It was very difficult to communicate with him as he speaks over you on high tones of voice and gets personal. I will avoid dealing with this business at all cost as there are many alternatives and we leave in America in 21 century where customer satisfaction is considered a number one priority. I still don’t believe I had to write this review.

Stay away from this place. I purchased an Israeli door in golden oak color. Received a dark zebra brown color door instead. The store' technician did a poor job installing the door so somewhat strong pressure needed to be applied in order to open it. After 3 years of usage the door handle broke. I called the store and ask if they can replace it. They said that the handle would cost me $350 (!) and they will charge another $150-200 for installation (for 4 screws!). I invited a locksmith who happen to be from Turkey and he assured me that this door is definitely made in Turkey. He could not find the matching handle so I had to search for an alternative solution for this problem - paying $500+ for a handle was not particularly an appealing option. Fortunately my friend was able to fix the broken handle which saved me $350 and then I saved another $150 by attaching it - it took me the whole 2 minutes to do. So my problems with the company could be summarized as follows:
1. They delivered a wrong color door of a different manufacturer
2. The installation was pretty bad
3. The company does not stand by it product that broke in 3 years of usage
4. They attempted to extract an astronomical fee for parts and labor.
All the above should convince any one to shop elsewhere

Horrible sales girls andservice. Delivered wrong cut doors, wrong handles, wrong glass on doors, etc. When we wanted to return it, they refused to take it back. Our contractor had to struggle to get it fit in. Stay away, would not recommend it!!!

Please stay away I am still waiting Yuriv to fix my door what I ordered 6 month ago unfortunately I will have to sue them as they don't do things as promise will keep you update hiwbit gets resolved so if you are not in the mood to end up in court please stay aaay

I want to door expo for European style doors with American standard sizes. They are the only business in town that provides this. When I walked in I was blown away by the selection they had and the customer service. I felt like family. I recommend this business all the time and it the best.

The best doors in NYC! I looked everywhere and almost bought my doors somewhere else when I just happened to pass by this store. Can't be happier! The service is amazing, these people really go out of their way to serve their customers. The free estimate, prompt delivery and most importantly - very reasonably priced doors which are genuine Italian, you can tell by the quality! Highly recommend!

- Saw them at architectural digest design show in NY in 2015



- Ordered interior doors and one patio door at the end of April. Promised delivery and installation within 8 weeks. Interior doors delivered after 13 weeks and not those I ordered. Implied I didn't know what I had ordered. Agreed to take back one door. Did not finish to install doors (for which I paid in full). Agreed to come and finish. Never happened.



- Patio door arrived after 15 weeks. Not the door I ordered and I did not accept delivery. Again tried to convince me this is the door I ordered. Note that not only it wasn't the model I ordered but it wasn't even conforming to my opening requirements (and they came to measure everything!). They agreed to take it back and refund deposit. Never happened.



- Unprofessional, deceiving and disrespectful.

Buyer Beware.



Do not purchase doors from this store.

This store is phenomenal. The best prices and best quality products all in one. You cannot go wrong if you purchase their products. All of their interior doors are imported from Italy and the quality is outstanding!! Very impressive showroom and elegant style and quality. I highly recommend purchasing doors from them, you will not find better!! Prices are pretty reasonable as well! Dealt with the two times and I was very satisfied!!
