Nitya Abraham, MD, Associate Professor of Urology and Obstetrics and Gynecology, joined Montefiore in 2015 as a specialist in female pelvic medicine and lower urinary tract reconstruction. Upon graduating summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Connecticut, Dr. Abraham obtained her medical degree as well as her surgical and urology residence training at New York University. She completed her fellowship training in pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. A recipient of the Doris Duke International Clinical Research Fellowship and the Traveling Resident Scholar Award to Uganda, Dr. Abraham is also the 2015 winner of the Clinical Science Essay Competition sponsored by the Society for Urodynamics and Female Pelvic Medicine, and Urogenital Reconstruction. She is a member of the American Urological Association.
