The Marion Bessin Liver Research Center offers various services related to liver disease. It provides treatment for metabolic disorders, genetic diseases, acute and chronic liver injuries, hepatitis virus infections and liver cancer. The center has a team of researchers who offer biomedical research in biochemistry, physiology, pharmacology, molecular biology, genetics and pathology. The Marion Bessin Liver Research Center specializes in the areas of gene therapy and regulation, liver growth control and cell transplantation, genetic engineering, glucose metabolism and malaria. Its Hepatology research training program offers training in liver diseases. The center conducts research seminars, sessions and discussion groups and maintains a journal club.
