Buyer Beware with these guys! I would not recommend that anyone use this hardware store to do anything other than make copies of keys. Banking on their convenient location and extensive knowledge of Co-Op City apartment window and fixture sizes, Dal's Hardware DRASTICALLY OVER CHARGES FOR MATERIALS AND SERVICES. I was charged $500 for a bathroom vanity that I later saw at Home Depot for $100. I was charged $60 for a stove hood splash guard that costs $30. The owner, Don, promised that his employees would install a shelf in the vanity for me. The installer put in a half shelf that was more like a useless ledge. It was too small to put anything on and so low in the cabinet that it prevents me from sliding normal-sized bottles in and out. I mentioned this right away and asked the installer to put in a different real shelf with a cut-out around the pipe. I was told they would order the new shelf and come back. That was three weeks ago. Every time I call, I'm told it will take a few more days. I blame myself because I paid in full after they installed the vanity. I should have told Dal's i would pay the remaining balance after they installed the shelf. I do not recommend their services to anyone. If you can afford their ridiculous prices, you can afford to wait a week or so to have a professional from Home Depot or Tri State Interiors come and do that job.
