Sinusitis
Acute sinusitis is the sudden onset of inflammation and/or infection after a cold or allergic rhinitis. Treatments include decongestants, antihistamines, antibiotics for bacterial infections, and antifungal medication for fungal infections.
Medical Weight Loss
Over-the-counter remedies include external nasal dilator strips, internal nasal dilators and lubricant sprays which may reduce snoring. However, there is no research evidence that they really help.

When you have ear, nose or throat problems, your quality of life is affected. You may even have a serious medical emergency. Your primary care doctor can provide a diagnosis and prescribe treatment in some cases, but you may also need to see an ENT specialist, or otolaryngologist.

Middle ear infections are common in children, and can be very painful. These ear infections can also affect the area from the inner ear through the Eustachian tube to the throat. When the ear infection involves fluid buildup (called effusion) in the middle ear, hearing is impaired. Additional damage can occur in the delicate structures of the ear if the condition is not treated.

Chemotherapy
Heart disease, high blood pressure and diabetes can also increase the risk of hearing loss, as blood supply to the ears is reduced. Medications like antibiotics, diuretics, chemotherapy drugs and drugs for erectile dysfunction can also contribute to hearing loss.

General Surgery
He completed an internship in general surgery at Brown University, followed by a year of general surgery residency at the Mercy Hospital of Pittsburgh, and subsequently graduated from the otolaryngology – head and neck surgery residency at the Medical University of South Carolina. He was then appointed to the academic staff as a clinical instructor in the Department of Otolaryngology at the Medical University of South Carolina. Prior to moving back to Bridgewater, Dr. Schneiderman was in practice in Atlanta, Georgia.
Ear Surgery
The myringotomy procedure is middle ear surgery performed by an ENT specialist. Myringotomy surgery is necessary to correct any Eustachian tube dysfunction and to install ear tubes in infants or toddlers. Young children may also have this procedure to correct a congenital defect in the eardrum or to relieve infection caused by inflamed tonsils, sore throat, and similar ENT disorders.
Otolaryngology
Dr. Schneiderman is a fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery and the American College of Surgeons. He is a member of the American Rhinologic Society, and has published articles in the otolaryngology and plastic surgery literature. He is board certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery. Dr. Schneiderman is on the staff at the Robert Wood Johnson Hospital Somerset and the Robert Wood Johnson Saint Barnabas Hospital, and on the faculty of the Robert Wood Johnson School of Medicine. He was an Associate Adjunct Surgeon at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai.
Reconstructive Surgery
In some cases, surgery may reverse hearing loss caused by scar tissue, infection or otosclerosis (abnormal bone tissue in the ear). Mechanical causes of hearing loss can be treated by reconstructive surgery of the outer and middle ear. Hearing aids also help sound reach the inner ear, and are the most effective way to treat hearing loss.

Plastic Surgeons

Rhinoplasty
In some cases, a rhinoplasty or “nose job” may be performed along with the septoplasty to change the nasal appearance. In some cases, the ENT will perform sinus surgery along with a septoplasty. The surgery is done under a general anesthetic. Internal splints may be inserted in the nose to stabilize the septum during healing. This surgery is usually performed on a same day basis.
