Le Pain Quotidien

I came here with 6 of my girlfriends for Sunday brunch, and damn was the parking annoying! That, and the fact that the kitchen didn't get my order quite right (wrong cheese on my omelet) are the two reasons why this place didn't deserve 5 stars. The parking right outside this location is only 30 min spots, so we had to park down the block. But eh, it's LA, what can you do? The ambiance was very rustic and cute for such a small place, and I liked the decor a lot. There are mostly small tables for 2-4 people, but they also had a large communal table in the center, which was perfect for my group. A couple was just finishing their breakfast when we walked in, and when I told the manager we were a group of 7, they cleaned off the table and set everything up right away. I had a wild mushroom omelet that had a delicious pesto sauce on top, and it came with a small side salad and 2 slices of their freshly baked bread. It was a bit on the pricy side, but I was very full at the end.

One of my girlfriends ordered their Belgium waffle, but it was so TINY! Don't order the Belgium if you're actually hungry!

By the looks of their pastries and breads, it seems like that's the reason most people come here. I'd like to come back sometime and try a chocolate croissant!
