In operation since 1968, Pat Munger Construction is full-service general contracting, specilizing in shell only pre-engineered buildings and contracting. Based in Branford, Conn., the company offers a suite of customers services in the categories of interior, shell, infrastructure and site work. This includes ceiling systems, painting/wall coverings, finished flooring, cabinetry/millwork, pre-engineered steel, structural steel, excavation and many more. In addition, the firm provides several services in clearing, drainage systems, detailed layout, parking lots/driveways and site concrete.
“Munger did an unbelievable job converting a lack-luster 25-year old warehouse into a vibrant world class headquarters and distribution center. Munger was very organized and made sound recommendations. Their subcontractors were fabulous. I attribute this to Munger’s selection process, tenured relationships and teamwork. Buying materials in bulk for use over the 7-month project and repairing rather than replacing the roof saved us over $1 million. Their wonderful people are always available, timely and show personal concern. It’s not just a job to them. The project manager brings lots of experience and frequently offered worthwhile suggestions. They worked closely with the architect and interior, furniture and cabinetry designers, and mechanical engineers. They were involved with the people who installed elaborate heating and cooling systems and with the security system team to get doors and locksets correct.” – Larry Cohen, Owner and President, Star Supply

Skylight Repair/Replacement
Navigating commercial roofs involves awareness and understanding of potential hazards. Old fiberglass skylights, commonly found on some metal building roofs, pose risks due to their composition. Despite their durability, it’s crucial to acknowledge their load-bearing limitations. Designed to seamlessly integrate with roofing profiles, these skylights lack the structural robustness to support a person’s weight, increasing fall risks. +

“We hired Munger to expand the workshop and to upgrade the interior and exterior appearance of our 1938 facility to improve workflow conditions and worker productivity. This was quite a feat since Munger completed its work while the business remained in full operation. I seriously doubt that another contractor could have pulled it off with down time next to nothing. A trusted relationship allows confidence to say I’d never use anyone else. We became a professional company. When you pull into the driveway, you know you’re in a different place. People stop by to see what we’re up to.”

“We selected Munger to provide design/build services to retrofit our existing facility and add a new 2-story Varco Pruden building with red standing seam roof, cupola, exterior stonework, gray pillars and siding. We heard good things from Murphy Moving and Storage, a Munger building owner, and from our engineer, Criscuolo Engineering. We felt comfortable with Munger people. We selected Munger even though they were not the low bidder. We know that the quality, workmanship and support will be remembered long after the price is forgotten.”
Residential Roof Repair
Many building owners without experience may attempt to handle repairs by themselves, in turn causing further, long-term damage to their roofing system. +
Residential Roof Replacement/Installation
“During our 13-year relationship with Munger we have received excellent work from the simplest repairs to more complex building projects ranging from oil pits, ventilation systems, metal roofing and a 45,000 square-foot design/build office and manufacturing addition – our single defining project. Like all of their jobs, it was completed on time and on budget. Workmanship was excellent. It continues to be the centerpiece of our facility. Attention to detail is obvious from start to finish in all of their projects. Munger has always been there for our “rush” projects.”
“Once we received the design plans from our architect, we went directly to Munger and asked how they would go about helping us with our renovation that would add 7,220 sq.-ft. of multifaceted space that blended the current renovation with seven prior additions. We did not seek a proposal from anyone else. This complex project enabled Munger to showcase a variety of talents such as carpentry and framing, masonry, structural steel, roofing, internal trim and fit-out and mechanical services. There were many hi-tech elements including HVAC, mechanical, fire and safety. Munger navigated the complex without interrupting customer activity or employee workflows. I am pleased that we were able to greet our fall harvest customers and have them wonder what’s different. They told us that it’s always looked this way.”
Insulation
Analyzing a commercial building’s masonry, exterior insulation finishing system (EIFS), glass, and insulated wall panels are among the most critical ways a building envelope evaluation can help prevent costly damage and energy inefficiencies. +
