Diplomat Taxi

The most dishonest taxi service I have ever used! Needed a pickup from Sarasota Airport to Holmes Beach on 5-17-14. Was quoted a flat price of $40.00 from the diplomat employee who was lining up the cabs at the airport. The ride was awful, constant braking, I thought I would get whiplash. I couldn't understand a damn thing the driver said. And he charged me $55.00 instead of the $40.00 that was quoted. He just kept saying 55 dolla holm beach. I used AMI taxi for the return visit. They were great. Don't ever use Diplomat. I wish i could give 0 stars to them. I can't find AMI taxi listed on YP, but their phone number is 800-301-4816 www.amitaxi.com. They are very honest, great to work with, and showed up on time, in a limo.

Not so good first time experience (and last). Reserved Executive Car on internet for airport trip. Got phone call to confirm a few days later. Drive was 5 minutes late. In a minivan. Smelled bad and looked worse. NOT an executive car I think. At the airport, it took the guy 5 minutes to find credit card slips and use a coin to take an imprint of my card on paper. When I called to complain I was told I was supposed to reconfirm that I wanted an Exec Car service when they called me back. How I was supposed to know all of this is beyond me. I'll keep using Execucar which has never been late, easy reservations and payment on the internet...and cheaper!

Giving these people one star is one star too many. I called them at 9am and scheduled an appt for them to pick me up at 3pm because I needed a ride to work that day. I called them again at 2pm to confirm my 3pm pick-up because I wanted to make sure I wouldn't be late. They confirmed my appt and said he would be there. The driver didn't show up until 3:30. Needless to day I was late for work. The driver then had the NERVE to think I was going to tip him. He had better be glad I didn't have another ride, otherwise I would have left and not bothered to call them and cancel the call. No apology or anything from the driver!! Talk about UNPROFESSIONAL!!!! I have learned my lesson, never again!!

Don't ever use this "Service". I booked an early morning pick up to get me to the airport. They confirmed the booking and never showed up. No phone call, no apology. I had to race to the airport myself and leave my car in the long term parking lot to make my flight. Stressful and unnecessary. If you advertise a 24 hour service you should provide one or NOT TAKE THE BOOKING.
