Fish Depot

My husband and I love this place! They always have fresh fish and their blue crabs are great (and so are their prices)! They have the best crab cakes I've ever had!!

This family owned and operated Fish Depot has the freshest fish in the Delray, Boynton, Lantana area. The owners are friendly and happy to provide you the the freshest local and flown in seafood you can buy. They will clean and/or fillet your own hand picked fish that is on display on ice. They also have condiments and some fresh vegetables you might need to prepare your fish as well.

As stated above, I USED TO love this place, but now I will never go back nor can I recommend it. Two weeks ago the owner was not on the premises and only the help; was there. There was a women with two children who were old enough to know better, but were allowed by their iressponsible mother to pick up the iced fish with their bare hands. Neither their mother nor the help reprimanded the children for playing with the fish, i. e. food.

Today man if middle eastern origin was sorting through the most beautiful pompano fish with his bare hands. When I reprimanded him he thanked me. I told him that he didin't get it. This is food for people and that touching food with bare hands is not Halal, not Kosher. He continued to be arrogant and threatened to call the police because I also called him a pig in front of other people. I told him this is a free country with freedom of speech. If he doesn't like it here he can go back to where he came from!

A food store that accepts and allows this unsantitary behavior and condition should not be patronized for unsanitary handling and display of raw fish!
