Dr. Brooks informed me that she was only running a pap smear. I recieved my bill and noticed STI tests that I didn't request. I called billing and was informed the Dr. could do tests w/o my consent and was then forwarded to the office where I was at first told that I requested the tests. I denied that as I am in a monogamous relationship, I was later called back and told that as STI testing is recommended for women 18-25 Dr. Brooks felt that I shouldn't be informed of $192 in unneeded tests.

Very displeased with Dr. Brookes' office. Went in late 2013, finally fed up with my crazily inconsistent periods, and was set up to do expensive ultrasound testing (even after insurance). Zero problems with my period after starting birth control in December 2013, but now its Mid-2015 and Dr. Brookes refuses to release my prescription for birth control unless I undergo another ultrasound, despite the fact that the previous one showed no abnormalities and I've had no problems since the start of 2014. Well, I for one am not about to be bullied about and scheduled for unnecessary procedures just so this office can get more money out of me. Unless you absolutely must see a gynecologist ASAP, as was my original case, I would avoid Dr. Brookes' office entirely.
