If I could give them a 0 I would. They are the MOST unprofessional group of people, and if it were possible, I would break my lease and move out. They keep the apartments at barely livable conditions, have an attitude every time you call the company, and they only have one maintenance man who does not really know what he is doing. If you are in college, STAY AWAY. Harold Tilley has sadly dedicated his career to taking advantage of college students for his own greedy gain.

Alexandra grew very irate and loud over the phone. Called for information that was apparently false and now can't get in contact with any superiors. Very disappointing that this is what Boone has to offer.

These people are slimy and pathetic. They are the mountain version of slum lords. It is all bait and switch. They promise what they won't deliver, will say anything to get you in the door, but if you need anything from them, they are rude, arrogant and completely unhelpful. I really believe that they are writing their own 5 star reviews, because I have never spoken with anyone who had a positive or even neutral experience with them.

If you are considering renting from them- Stay away. In fact RUN. This is one of the worst rental companies I have ever dealt with. I have put 3 kids through colleges (including another at APP and this company the most pitiful. The only reason they are still in business is they manage so much property, its practically a monopoly. There was a water problem in my daughter's apartment - including flooding- during the previous tenants stay. It was not cleaned up properly and the mold has resulted in illness both to myself and my daughter. Why can't we join together and file a lawsuit?

Never never never rent from this company!! They do not maintain or care about property rented by college students. They have an excuse for everything and when they do show up to fix something it is never actually repaired. Anything we have asked about from mold, rusty appliances, pipes and crumbled flooring has been a sorry we do not do this. I cannot. Believe they get away with renting unsafe disgusting property. They have an excuse for this too. My favorite is if the house is in such disrepair why doesn't my daughter and her roommates fix it or clean it up!! Since when is maintenance a renters problem? They finally repaired a rotting floor in the bathroom and left the entire wall they took down to access the pipes in the bathroom!! Nails and boards with rotted plaster!! The response they will come back at an unknown time or remove it but my daughter can remove it as well???? Stay far away from this company unless you enjoy living in squalor and constant repair requests that get filed!!

Appalachian Management decided it was a good idea to allow a 50+ year (and several of her family members) to live in 1 BR apartments less than a minute walking distance to campus, amongst students. She's since made life hell for all other residents: yelling at them over nothing, getting in shouting matches with her son (cops came twice to break it up), and getting in shouting matches in the street with people (all incidents recorded on video). The last cherry on top of all this is this resident waited at the bottom of my stairs for me to turn the corner and immediately verbally threatened me and shouted at my girlfriends and my own face, cops were called and report filed. The first week I moved in, this resident yelled at me and said she was calling the landlord to complain. I called to make sure everything was OK, and App Management stopped me mid-explanation to say "-ohhh...You live in [APT COMPLEX] ? I think I know who you're talking about and well...she's just not mentally...right, so don't worry about it." Wow. Good job making residents feel unsafe to leave their apartment when they live not even a minute away from the library and campus. Do not do business with these people.

My daughter lived in at Kingswood for 3 years and called for service once (to ask that a bag of frozen chicken someone deposited at the site be removed.) Paid her rent on time.

App Management withheld $3.09 from her deposit to cover a Connect Fee. Except New River Power and Light collects that at the beginning.

The place was a dive; horribly filthy looking carpet, no screen in the screen door, if the apartment was painted before they moved in it didn't look it.

App Management has the students by the short hairs and uses it to their advantage. The single star is required before my comments will go through.

I'm a procrastinator. I waited way too long to find an apartment to live in next year. The guy at App Management showed me several great options w/in my price range and I found an awesome place close to campus. I really appreciated the extra time he took to help me find a place at the last minute.

Do not rent from them! They promise to complete work orders and they never do. They never return phone calls. Appalachian Management is not in the business of renting apartments, they are in the business of taking advantage of hardworking college students. My husband and I rented from them for almost two years and we heard lie after lie. I had to move for work and they (for lack of a stronger way to put it) did their best to screw us over.

I'm a senior and I've rented from three different companies in Boone. I have to say that App Management was the best out of the three. They actually answer the phone and responded to any problems that came up. If I make it into grad school, I'll continue renting from them.

Take it from a fellow App student: Please do everything you can to avoid renting from App Management. The overly shiny 5 star reviews listed here are blatantly fake. This company will say anything to get you to rent, but it's just downhill from there.

I've been in boone for over 5 years now and rented from lots of different companies. I've had to deal with mold, broken toilets, unfair charges - you name it. Well, it's my last year of grad school and I finally found a great place. App Management was nice to me, the condo is awesome - large, close to campus and actually clean and everything working when I moved in. My only complaint is that the oven is really old, but I'm probably not going to use it anyway.

The boss man at Appalachian Management is really nice. He drove me and my roommates out to see apartments before we signed with him. They really go above and beyond what you'd expect. If I weren't about to graduate and leave Boone, I'd stay with them.

They're honest and helpful. They seem to go above and beyond what you need. My hot water heater busted and ruined my carpet. They were in the next day to fix everything.

I've lived in some apartments ...

I've lived in some apartments on King St just West of campus for years, and I really like it. I don't have to worry about buying a parking pass to get to school (which is at least $200) bc theres a bus stop at my apartment. On nice days, I usually just walk to campus because it's less than a mile from there.

Great website! Helpful staff

I'm an ASU student who transferred from UNC Pembroke halfway through the school year. I called a bunch of local rental companies and no one worked to get me in an apartment for the spring semester exept App Management. Their website had all the info I needed to help me find a place to live. They were super helpful and bent over backwards to get me a place to stay. As far as the apartment goes, it's a lot bigger and nicer than the one I stayed in at UNCP and it's cheaper too. I'm a fan of App Management and I'll stay with them through undergrad and hopefully grad school.
