Ultrasound
Ultrasound procedures include abdomen, breast, hysterosonography, musculoskeletal, OB/GYN, pelvis, scrotum and thyroid. Ultrasound is also used for assisting physicians in visualization of patient anatomy for interventional and surgical procedures. Ultrasound equipment at all our sites yield high-resolution diagnositc grayscale images and are capable of performing color Doppler, power Doppler and 3D imaging.
MRI
Neurological imaging generally refers to imaging of the head, neck, and spine. Common diagnoses include stroke, cancer, infection, inflammation, trauma, as well as age related degeneration of the spine. Radiologists in this field commonly use MRI and CT for diagnosis and interventional procedures are also performed for diagnosis and/or treatment including angiography, lumbar puncture, and needle injections.
Radiology
The Physician Assistants (PA) at Boise Radiology Group are licensed to perform many of the same functions as physicians whereby they diagnose and treat illness and injury as well as perform procedures, assist in surgery, order and interpret test as well as write prescriptions. Additionally, BRG Physician Assistants perform a wide array of interventional procedures using image guidance. These include, but are not limited to, biopsies, venous catheter placement, thoracentesis, paracentesis, lumbar puncture, and dialysis catheter placement.

Nuclear Medicine
Pediatric radiology is the application of diagnostic radiology to aid in the understanding, diagnosis, therapy, and follow-up of diseases of infants and children. Pediatric radiologists have pursued additional, specialized training in performing and interpreting imaging of children of all ages, utilizing plain film radiology, ultrasound, CT, MRI, fluoroscopy and nuclear medicine. While pediatric radiologists are involved in many of the studies performed on children, other sub-specialists within the Department of Medical Imaging, assist in the care of pediatric patients.
Mammography
Procedures utilizing digital mammography decrease the time for the procedure, including galactography and mammographic wire localizations. Decreased times during mammographic compression decreases discomfort and improves patient satisfaction.
Computed Tomography
Interventional Radiology
Interventional radiology combines x-ray imaging and minimally invasive surgical techniques for the purpose of treating a variety of medical disorders without surgery. Interventional radiologists perform a wide variety of procedures including but not limited to angiograms, venous catheter placement, and embolizations. Procedures performed with imaging guidance have lower complication rates and quicken the recovery times.

Diagnostic procedures include percutaneous breast biopsies and localizations utilizing mammographic, ultrasound, or MRI guidance. We use clinically proven diagnostic techniques, which include the utilization of automated vacuum-assisted core biopsy devices to provide improved biopsy sampling of lesions, decreased patient procedure times, and better patient satisfaction.
