Beneficial for patients with conditions that prevent them from undergoing conventional Colonoscopy, such as a blood disorder, patient use of anticoagulant medication, intolerance of the required sedative, or other problems such as heart or lung disease.

Risks: If you have coronary artery disease, it is possible that you could experience chest pain or angina when stressed by exercise or by being given a drug that applies to your heart. However, your test will be carried out under the supervision of a specialist trained to monitor you and your heart by using information being provided by the electrocardiogram, by your heart rhythm, and by your chest pain.

Pelvis and Transvaginal and Obstetrics U/S - 1 to 2 hours before your exam, drink at least 2 large glasses of water (32 ounces) and maintain a full bladder.

Internal Medicine
After the exam is performed, a Board Certified Radiologist will evaluate the images. A written report and a CD containing images from the study will be sent to the patient within 2 weeks. For Full Body Scans, patients are offered a personal consultation with a Board Certified Internal Medicine physician. The consultation takes place 2-3 days following the exam. Phone consultations are also available.
Colon Cancer
Screening for colorectal cancer should be a part of routine care for all adults starting at age 50. In those people with first-degree relatives with colorectal cancer, screening should start at an earlier age. Groups that have a higher incidence of colorectal cancer - those with hereditary conditions, such as familial polyposis, hereditary nonpolyposis colon cancer and inflammatory bowel disease - should consult with their health care providers as to the appropriate time to begin screening.

However, it is estimated that the survival rate may be increased to 80% through early detection and treatment. Lung scans are able to detect very small tumors often before they are large enough to be detected by conventional X-rays. By detecting lung cancer at an early stage, an individual's survival rate may be significantly improved.

Uterine Fibroids are benign (non-cancerous) masses located in the uterus or in the uterine wall. At least 1 in 4 women in the U.S. suffer from this condition, but 3 of 4 may suffer from it unknowingly. Fibroids can cause heavy bleeding, painful periods, bleeding between periods, frequent urination, bowel symptoms, pain during sex, and lower back pain, and at times require hysterectomy (the removal of the uterus.)
