Long Enterprises

My residential Goodman furnace would not heat. I called my local heating contractor and got Long Enterprises. Within 1.5 hours, the technician was at my door. Within five minutes, the technician suspected it was my igniter, and promptly replaced the igniter. Approximately 15 minutes later, I had heat and a bill. The bill was for a customary service charge of $79.00, plus the igniter at $248.00 for a total of $327.00. Sticker shock you bet!!. After a wow and how come and my statement I bet I could get that part on the net for $15.00, he reduced the part by about $100.00, for a total bill to $231.00. There is some tax here, so the math does not quite compute. My investigation on the internet for GOODMAN FURNACE PARTS resulted that I could purchase the part for $40.99 at Alpine Home Air Products. I understand they are not going to provide the part at internet cost, but $248 for a $40 part and 20 minutes is a bit expensive in my opinion.
