Brookwood Medical Center

I had back surgery and my son did too a couple of years back and we had a great experience with doctors and staff. My wife was in for a week during this COVID thing and was treated like a queen,thanks Brookwood for all the love and attention !

I had major abdominal surgery, and was very well taken care of. I absolutely loved my treatment, and have very rarely encountered rude or incompetent staff. I loved them so much, that when I became pregnant, I chose them again to handle my prenatal care, and again, I couldn't be happier.

I was assured of a male prep nurse for an operation at this facility in 2009- Instead I got a rude female named ESTELLE MURDOCK who refused my request for same gender care I'd been promised- i even wrot out what I wanted and had a copy laying on my body as we spoke. I was PYSICALLY VIOLATED and the administration cared little about it after the incident. Dealing with thiem was just about as bad as bein violated by Ms Murdock was. I filed complaints on all of htem and kow that what happned to me could happen to you. Had I been a femal NEVER would a male nurse have been in the room to do to me what she did. There is clearly acdouble standard in urology patient care at this facility and at others as well. I had to have the same operation again this year and opted to go to ST Vincents in Birmingham and had the best overall hospital day ever of my 7 operations in the past 5 years....
