Livingston's Animal Kingdom

I have been a loyal customer here for several years...the employees are friendly and helpful and the manager is fantastic - he always makes sure the food I need and litter is there for my fur babies. The place is kept very clean and the atmosphere incredibly friendly - I would recommend going to this small bushiness over any full scale inline retail store any day. I highly recommend it :)

We had recently gotten a kitten from Livingston's. The sign on top of the kitten cage where they all were said the price for a kitten and then that they had their first shots, were de-wormed and the first vet checkup was free. We got our 8 week old kitten into the vet for her check up and even the vet commented on how slender she was for her age. We thought in the next few weeks she would put on more weight and thought nothing of it. We had notice d her odd behavior around food though. This kitten would cry as if someone was hurting her whenever she smelt food and would eat a ton! 2 weeks later and she hasn't gained an ounce. The past few days she has not been active at all and appears extremely lethargic. She passed a stool and as she hopped out of the litterbox a long string followed her. After excessive research and google image comparisons we have come to the conclusion she has tapeworm. (We will be confirming with a vet asap in the morning.) I went back to the paper work I signed from Livingston's to see what date the de-worming (as advertised verbatim) took place and what do you know? She was only treated for round worm. I'm sorry but that is a bit misleading if you ask me and not to mention had I known, we might have suspected this earlier and gotten her treated asap. Now our poor kitten is starving, in pain, and looks like she could pass on before we get her medical attention in the am. We are very distraught over not knowing how progressive her tapeworm is and the fact that we were mislead. Not to mention just seeing our kitten so sick. I do not recommend purchasing a pet from this place!!!
