Brookview School, International Montessori Academy began as the Montessori House of Children in 1975. The school s 22,000-square-foot campus houses an infant room, a toddler room, five primary environments, two lower elementary classrooms with a shared science lab, a Spalding reading room, one upper elementary classroom, one junior high classroom, a library with a collection of more than 5,000 books and resources, a KitchenAid test kitchen, an art environment with kiln room and a dark room for photography. The campus grounds also include a playground for toddlers, a separate playground for older children, a boardwalk, and an observation deck. The curriculum offered by the school includes language, mathematics, science, cultural studies, creative writing and literature, foreign language, music, art, physical education, architecture, environmental education, animal farm, vegetable gardening, cooking, theater, photography, pottery and crafts. Brookview School is located in Benton Harbor, Mich.
