Top Nails III

I have given this nail salon multiple attempts in the past three years. Aside from the most common problem in nail salons being technicians speaking in their own language in front of customers who do not understand and improper sterilization practices, their service is also subpar. Most of the time the gel polish peels off within days of getting nails done, which I have noticed is technician dependent. My biggest concern and the reason why I will never return to this nail salon is unfair pricing. I am going to a baby shower tomorrow and wanted to get my nails done. I opted for a simple manicure as I was planning to return next week for a longer lasting gel manicure because my birthday is coming up. I decided that I would get my nails painted with 3 different color nail shades of blue. One shade per nail, alternating between nails. The nail technician told me because I'm using 3 colors, even though I am using 1 color per nail, he would charge me $3 more. I insisted it would still use up the same amount of nail polish and barely any more time than usual. I questioned the fairness and validity of this, he told me it's in their policy. I requested to see the policy (since they have many other rules printed out and posted on walls throughout the salon) and he said he doesn't have it on paper but it's a policy. My concern isn't about $3. It's about the fairness of this situation. Interestingly, while I was picking out colors, another customer came who wanted a manicure as well. She wanted a more expensive option. I presume he made up a policy to get me out of the store so he could make a more lucrative sale. Never again.

I've been going here for years and have always been satisfied. Everyone is courteous, kind and professional.
