The old reviews no longer apply to this business. There is a new doctor there named Dr. Decker. She is personable, professional and competent. She doesn't push you to buy more than you need or can afford. Her exam is thorough. I was able to use my DC 37 insurance to get a very nice pair of glasses. I spent an additional $120 for progressives, but could easily have gotten ordinary bifocals if I so chose. I would definitely recommend this company to others, especially DC 37 members. P.S. I know nothing of contact lenses since I don't use them. This is review is only for eyeglasses.

Do not go to this "doctor's office" for your contact lenses... I've been using contacts for +10 years and it's never been so difficult to get my contact lenses...

They want to act like they are being extra careful and professional for their contact lens fitting, but it is just a way to make more $$. I do have my own eye doctor and medical coverage for any problems with my eyes. And I am well aware of complications with using contacts for a long time, risk of infections, inflammations with improper care and use. And they require "comprehensive" exam for contact lens fitting... like I've never worn them before... fine.. they care so much for my eyes...

I did not have a good experience with them last year, but I played it cool. I went to this place, simply because they were in-network with my vision plan. They were so rude and nasty the whole time, and I should have walked out of there then. I was being too nice to them!!! I had to pay about $100 for their COMPREHENSIVE eye exam.... they told me about this rebate, and I ended up spending ~$200 out of pocket and got $100 back in mail. I was OK with all that, since I was a new customer and they do not know about my eyes. And today I called to get my 6-mo supply using that previous Rx. I was told that my Rx expires in 1 mo so they can't give me a 6 mo-supply without another eye exam which would cost more than $100. (no such rule exists for prescription medications by the way) They are taking advantage of the fact that I need their Rx in order to get my vision benefits, so she can say whatever and any rules on her own, since she's the one who issued this Rx. I never had this kind of problem before and my eye doctor (ophthalmologist!!!) always renewed my Rx with no charge if I did not have any complaints. My husband uses a different place in Manhattan for years. He's never paid anything out of pocket other than biennial eye exam. I know it is hard to run small business, but if they treat customers like this no one will go back. This is such a waste of my time writing this review, but I hope people can know what kind of business this is before even considering using them. IF I have to spend money on an eye exam or whatsoever, I would rather go to somewhere else with nicer people who can make you feel like a customer and explain upfront if there are their own laws and policies that I should know, not a place with rude, shady people claiming to be a "doctor's office".

I never give negative review to anybody before but this one I have to do it, because I read the YELP before I get there, and I found out it's not what I expect. They treated you like a dump and try to rip your money out, if you don't believe me . please try this place. I don't want to give any star to them at all..

Beware of the old bait and swi...

Beware of the old bait and switch. I went their with my husband. Asked if they accepted our insurance. They did. I asked to see only frames covered entirely by our plan. They showed several, we decided on one. The following day, my husband went to the appointment, asked for the frames from the prior day, which they wrote down on a bussiness card. My husband was then asked for $49.00. The frames were not fully covered. He explained that the girl said they were. He was fresh and nasty,(the owner), adding that everyone goes over their eye glass budget. I thought choosing this location would be easy for us. I was very wrong. I would not have made the appointment if I had known how sleasy the did business.
