Red Pepper Cocktail Lounge

Love the food. The servers and those cooks can really put out delicious dishes! !! If you want a great meal or just to meet great people this is the place!!

We had a group of nine of us there with reservations at 6:30 p.m. The restaurant was fairly busy. We were told there were not enough menus and that we would have to share two for the entire group (later additional menus were brought for the rest of the table). The wait staff was too busy to take my drink order during our entire time there. When the food did arrive, I found a piece of shaved metal in my chili relleno ranchero in my first bite of it. When I was finally able to flag down our waitress, she stated it was just part of the twist ties on the peppers (try telling that to my perforated intestine if I would have swallowed it!). She offered to bring me a taco instead, so I reluctantly accepted (had my heart set on the chili relleno that evening). When the check arrived, there were no deductions for my dinner, in fact, a mistake was made and it was $2 more on the bill than what it was listed as on the menu! When we were able to finally flag down our waitress again (after several minutes had gone by), we notified her of my dinner still being on the bill after she had taken it away after one bite and replaced it with a taco for which I was charged $8.95! In the meantime, we were informed by the hostess that there were other people with reservations waiting and that we should leave soon! We had noticed some friends sitting at a nearby table who had arrived at the same time as our group and stayed at least 20 minutes after our group had walked out the door (we stood outside chatting for awhile and that's how we knew how long after we had left that they left). With service and food of this quality, a Bakersfield favorite may soon be in the outhouse!
