Overall

Recently very POOR customer service!
I have used Quality door to make repairs to my overhead garage tension springs on 3 different occasions.

1st occasion my one and only spring broke; they came out to my residence (30 miles away) and made the repair quickly and at a reasonable price ($100.00 trip/service fee and cost of spring). Great I was a happy customer!

2nd occasion 6-7 years later that one springs failed again; they came out, evaluated the situation and suggested adding an additional spring to allow us to use the door even if one failed, so I did. I believe one of the gentlemen’s names was Harold. Only charged me minimal $100.00 service/trip charge and cost of second new spring because I previously purchased the “Lifetime” spring, replaced my failed spring and again, happy customer!

3nd occasion 6-7 years later (springs only last for about 10,000 cycles I’m told, up/down = 1 cycle) another spring broke, they “Quality Door” came out, made the repair, was not Harold, but was charged a $100.00 trip/service fee, nothing for the spring, and again, happy customer!

4th occasion last week, another spring failure! No problem, I went out to the inside of my garage door where I had written Quality Doors information and called them. Spoke to someone I've never spoke to before, guess Harold passed away, possible a new owner, this guy was trying to rake me over the coals to replace my lifetime warranty spring. $100.00 trip charge to travel 29 mile one way, another $100.00 for the service call, then $71.00 for the replacement spring. I then proceeded to let him have it, letting him know I am a repeat customer, that he’s ripping me off on the trip charge and that he won’t be servicing my garage doors EVER again.

Do it yourself folks!!!!!! Was not that hard!! I watched several youtube videos on how to over and over till I was confident I could tackle this project safely, then I went t a place called Kern Door at 7000 McDivitt Dr. Bakersfield, CA. 93313, 661-834-1656, 661-834-6604 fax. There they measured my old springs, brought out two new replacements, and charge me $91.00 out the door, and I got a little how to info from one of their garage door tech’s.

I will do business with this Kern Door again when needed!.

Randy
