Del Taco

Del Taco is a fast-food chain that offers a variety of Tex-Mex products such as tacos, burritos, tostadas, nachos, and more. This store location here on 35145 7th Standard Road has one dining room, a one way drive-thru, and public restrooms.



This joint is new to the area, but don't be fooled by the cute arquitecture; it is actually one of the worst joints that you could stop at here in Bakersfield.



For one thing, the customer service is horrible. 2 reasons: #1) The employees (including management) take forever and a day to take orders at the front counter. They don't seem to know their own menu off the top of their heads, which is rather embarassing. #2) I'll be more blant with this one: rude people. They don't smile, they don't give eye contact, they don't say "thank you", and they aren't welcoming. It is so obvious that they are not concerned for a consumer's needs, that I shouldn't give any more details than that. Being friendly to others is not a rocket science.



Now, as far as food accuracy goes... well, you could already guess that it's bad since the working crew aren't trained to deal with the public. For instance, during one of my several visits to this joint, I ordered a cheeseburger. The worker then asked, "Would you like cheese on it?" Hmmmm... let's see... well, I did say "cheeseburger"... so YES, that's what I need. And remember folks, that was a problem with just one visit; the other visits had worse problems.



As far as waiting for the order goes, it's actually alright. You do get your food within a reasonable timescale. HOWEVER, the food tends to come cold most of the time. Whenever I took a stop at this place to order a product, I'm usually disappointed because of how cold it is. Fries come cold, bean burrito comes cold, chicken tacos come cold, you name it... it's not good quality. The vegetable toppings for the tacos and burritos are OK, but don't help with the lack of meat temperature.



The dining room and restrooms are "clean", but I would never take that into consideration because the joint is new. A new joint means that it will seem clean for the next 5 years. After 5 years, then it could get dirty if untreated.



So, in conclusion, I don't recommend this place to anyone; not even in the slightest. Bad service and cold food are the only things appealing here. If you desire Del Taco so much, try the store at Mount Vernon near Bakersfield College. They are 25 times better than this joke of a building.
