Vidant Family Medicine

When I went to this medical clinic (Outer Banks Family Medicine in Avon, NC) for the first time, I found them to be very cold, unfriendly, and rejecting. The gruff physician on call would only consider the condition that I thought I might have, barely discussed it, and did not even examine me. I was hoping to establish a doctor-patient relationship that would apply for my periodic visits to Hatteras Island, but this clinician and his staff made it clear that they wanted no such arrangement. It is regrettable that this clinic is one of the few on Hatteras Island, given the long distances that island patients must otherwise go to get care. (After this experience, I went to a Vidant clinic on the northern Outer Banks on a walk-in basis, and they treated me in a much more accepting way.)
