General Info

Located in Austin, Texas, the Victim Services Division is a state division that offers assistance services to reduce victimization through education. The division provides community support and personal services to victims and their families. It also offers family assistance and health care services. In addition, the Victim Services Division provides job training and legislative issue handling services. The division organizes various conferences on topics, such as good conduct time and grievances. It operates a victim advisory council that provides victim needs assessment services, and is comprised of more than 30 representatives from victim advocate groups, state agencies and victim service providers. The Victim Services Division additionally conducts training sessions in affiliation with Community Justice Assistance Division, Texas Juvenile Probation Commission and Texas Board of Examiners of Licensed Professional Counselors.
