Threadgill's Kitchen

I've heard of this place so I thought it'd be great. My food was awful! My boyfriends chicken fried steak came out cold with like a teaspoon of gravy. My waiter didn't write any of our specifications down, so no, we never got lemon for our water or crackers. We had to remind him. He didn't ask how things were. His recommendations for my plate were AWFUL!! NEVER ORDER SPINACH CASSEROLE! When I think of casserole, I think of something baked in the oven, maybe with layers. NO, this looked like what Pop Eye ate. It was disgusting. Parking is poor, the water tastes like rust. SUCKED!

I love the atmosphere but was not impressed with their chicken fried steak. For being "world famous" it was not that impressive. It was tough and not that big. The variety of sides is a plus though.

Really , really good vegatables of all kinds . You name it, it's here and tastes like your Grandma cooked them. Heck, the meatloaf tastes better than my Grandma's and she owned the town cafe in my little hometown. If you crave Southern cooking, and your Yankee friends show up, do yourself a favor and take them to Threadgills, you'll all be glad they came to town...it's really good in a Southern Comfort sort of way!

Threadgills is down home cooking at its best. In addition to the fact that Janis played here, you can get great veggies and my vote for the best chicken fried steak in town.
