Founded in 1987, the Southwest Key Programs is a private, nonprofit agency that offers therapeutic counseling, education and community-based services to youths and families. The organization provides shelters, workforce development services, and juvenile justice and youth empowerment programs. It offers a variety of community-based treatment programs for federal, state and local agencies. The Southwest Key Programs provides more than 40 programs in Arizona, California, Georgia, Louisiana, New York, Texas and Wisconsin. The organization receives grants through foundations, corporations, special events, private contributions, and federal, state and local governments. With a presence in Austin, Texas, its staff members include program directors, youth care workers, social workers, and independent living and vocational coordinators.
