This company is so ridiculous. I was moving in on a Friday, so I called 2 weeks ahead of time to get everything set up before I went on vacation for a week. I set up my all day appointment for Friday knowing I would not be there before noon, but I figured they'd call and I'd see what happened because i knew I'd want to shower after moving in all my stuff. Plus a member of the staff at my apartment complex said if I wasn't there, they'd turn it on, but maintenance would just have to come out and light the pilot. So I figured that wasn't a big deal. Because of some frustrating circumstances I didn't get there til 5, but it wouldn't have mattered because they called at 7:55 to say they'd be there in 30 minutes. I called maintenance and they came out and said my gas was not even on. So I called Texas Gas, but they were not open. I called them Saturday and Sunday. Not open. Monday I wake up around 9 and promptly call them again. They say they cannot do same day service. At this point I'm really ticked because I have things to do Tuesday and Wednesday and cannot sit around the apartment all day. There is no reason they can't do same day service if they have times slots that were not filled. Anyways, I schedule for an appointment on Thursday. Thursday rolls around and wait around the apartment all day. At 4:40, I hadn't heard anything, so I called them again. The woman informed me that sometime they don't get to people until 6 or 7. Which is really messed up to make people take a day off work if you're not gonna be there until 7, when they could have been there after work. So the guy finally gets here at 5:15, runs some tests and then tells me he cannot light my pilot and he'll have to get maintenance to come out and do it. He won't tell me why he can't light it but offers to let the staff know for me. This is my first experience with this company and in the future I will do everything I can to avoid working with them. Ever. Just because you know I need hot water and you know you are the only one I can get it from is no excuse to treat your customer so badly! If you're going to charge me when I miss an appointment, you should at least credit my account when you missed your scheduled time. But they won't do that because they don't have to. Austin really needs more options in gas service!
