Overall

A nightmare at best. Ive had other issues with her lack of professionalism and bias but this one takes the cake. Out of the blue she advised my 16yo to cut me off and have her father change her phone number without anyone informing me of why this was happening. Honestly I had no idea where this came from. For 3wks I was worried sick. So I had to contact my ex's attorney to find out what was going on. she seemed surprised that I wasn't informed. Actually its not a surprise, one year ago April signed a note for my daughter to stay out of school for 3 daysl while under her care. Not only was I not informed but my daughter was at her grandmothers 80miles away,so she wasn't actually under her care.April and my ex kept my daughter out of school so much that she was almost kicked out last fall. Her attendance records support this. In fact when April showed up to see my daughter at school the principal told her she was unprofessional. My experience has been horrible regarding this individual

.oh and one more tidbit.I don't know much about April's upbringing but I was informed through my ex that Aprils father "hit her with a switch too" when she was young so apparently it was ok that my ex hit my 15 yo daughter w a yard stick to wake her up.Daddy called my daughter the "C" word and April condoned that w a response, well she called him a D B. From my perspective, my daughter has some real issues to work on but she's also being a typical teen, choosing the path of least resistance to get what she wants, not being completely honest along the way. April does not due her due diligence and is enabling negative behaviors.I would not, even remotely consider recommending her.

Overall

April is an amazing therapist! My teenage daughter (16) has been seeing her for months and she just loves her. April not only listens, but is very personable. She responds to questions/concerns even outside the hour you're with her. If you're looking for a therapist that talks to you like a person and that really cares about you, the patient...then look no further! She's awesome!
