A great, friendly, affordable company to help with your move. After, lots and lots of research on who we were going to use for my mother-in-law's cross country move, we went with Pack Rat. It was, hands down, the easiest, cheapest, most efficient move we have ever experienced. They also were able to move her stuff from Chicago to Texas, and provide secure storage for 6 months while she found a home. Their rates on that was dirt cheap, and offered more than most traditional storage facilities. We will only use and recommend this company for friends, family, and ourselves.

Showed up at 9:00pm to unload the container which they loaded backwards with the doors facing away from my house. They ask you how you want it dropped off doors in or out. Had to unload the container in the street, reload it then unload it again in my driveway because they didn't bother to load it the way they asked me. I originally thought I would store it at their facility, ended up storing it in my driveway instead. Called to try and get the storage fee removed since it has been at my house instead and they refused to remove it.

Move from New York to Miami, They delivered on time, but it was the wrong unit, When we unpacked our unit, took a week to be picked,causing a lot of problems, Numerous phone calls to costumer service, mostly of the times we had to leave a message, Customer service one of the worst i deal with

Read everything they ask you to sign. Ask questions before you rent. I feel the company operates on false pretenses. They are great until the moment they got you in. Than you pay through the nose for things there was no initial mentioning. No use protesting, even if it was not visible at first, you should of dig for the info. What looked like a good deal, is a nightmare. Financial and service-wise. I will never rent with them again. Now is to late, my stuff is in the container and I still do not have a contract, so who knows what kind of nasty surprise awaits me. It would off been cheaper to rent a truck and four help people, pay for storage and the four with move back . Stay away, you be sorry if you won't

This was my first time using Pack Rat, And my last. I have never been so disappointed with service. First of all they take 3 days later after they delivery to collect the payment. Then on top of that my container was broken into and a lot of my stuff was stolen.I did there claim form and everything and i even had there insurance. I cant seem to get a live voice or speak with no one on the matter. I keep getting the run around, excuse, after excuse. I am upset because of how they handle things and how My situation has not been handled in a prompt matter at all.

I came home last night to find my storage unit removed from my premeses; without as much as a letter of notification or phone call. Attempts to reach the storage facility (Billerica, MA) for information have been to no avail; calls go to voicemail and are not returned. I had a small outstanding balance I'd made arrangements to pay w/ the central billing office in Wake Forest, NC, and wasn't given the opportunity to do so - the unit was simply removed (with all of my property inside) without notification of any kind or opportunity to pay the bill and no response from the Billerica warehouse that removed the unit. This action on the part of the operator (1-800-Pack-Rat) without consumer notification, in all likelihood, are in violation of MA Trade Law and I'll be pursuing legal advisement in this regard.

I decided to go with packrat for my move from CO to MN. This is what I was promised...delivery in CO on the 10th, picked up on the 15th, and to MN on the 19th. My payment was to be taken out the day immediately following the delivery to CO. Here's what happend...It was delivered to CO on the 9th, and since someone needs to be there, my husband to leave work, it was picked up on the 15th, but when I called a week and a half later, it was still sitting in Denver. The payments were taken out at different times, with varying amounts. My unit was not returned until the 30th of the month. No satisfaction at all. I will be seeing them in small claims court...

I wish I could give them 0 stars. DO NOT USE FOR A LONG DISTANCE MOVE!!! The sales department promises a lot of customer services that never get provided. Basically the move coordinator failed to "coordinate" the move at every step of the way...they didn't show repeatedly to pick up - when I called they said my container was already in transit (it was sitting in front of my house). When they finally picked up they let the container simply sit in Tucson Arizona for over a week despite the fact I had both verbally and in written communication (email) informed my move coordinator that the container should leave Tucson for Michigan ASAP as the original plan was for both the container and I to arrive around the same day in Michigan (as the sales person promised). I got to Michigan only to call and find out that my container was still sitting in Tucson. It did not arrive within 10 days of pick up per our contract, and I had damage!!!! Waiting to hear from a manager for the last 3 weeks!

I am very dissatisfied with the service provided by 1-800-Pack-Rat. Now that I have fulfilled my one year contract, they are nowhere to be found. Getting them to drop off my container in a timely manner so that I am not charged for an additional month is a challenge (because they don't prorate). If you are ONE day over, they will charge for the entire month! For the past week, I have been unable to get a phone call returned. I even showed up at their office, and it looked like a ghost town-not a person in sight. It's as if they want to entrap me so that I'll have to pay extra money. When I called the 1-800 number to schedule to drop off my container, they informed me that it would be almost three weeks before they could deliver, and none of the dates they offered were on the weekends, which is the only time I can move. It's just been an utter mess! Two thumbs down for 1-800-RAT-TRAP. I am the rat caught in their trap!

This is the second time using PackRat and they were late both times delivering the container. The first round I lost valuable time with my movers sitting at our house waiting for the container to show up. They were friendly and cheaper than the other company - but don't plan on them meeting their schedule.

I had this happen on both the initial delivery of containers and again when requesting they be delivered. Only thing that was quoted correctly was the monthly storage fee to store the containers until I was ready for them. If you decide to use their service, write down everything when speaking to their Reps.

A scheduleing mishap occured, and they picked up a pod too early on the Saturday we had movers coming. Called them and they said they would get a hold of the local of to get our pod back to us. However, no one called us back to let us know if the pod was on the way or not.Got six diffrent people who said they would call back and let us know. No one called and we were stuck haveing to get a storage unit and paying over $1,000 to get moved. They have no costumer service tact, and never return phone calls.

Yikes! Called to get a quote for a "long distance move" from california to colorado, and was qouted $3,000 big ones. So not worth it, I think I will stick to moving myself for $1,000.
