- Ovarian CancerA hysterectomy may be advised as a treatment for endometrial (uterine) cancer, pre-cervical cancer, cervical cancer, or ovarian cancer. It may also be used to treat uterine fibroids, uterine prolapse, endometriosis, and severe chronic bleeding that does not respond to other types of treatments.
- Cervical CancerWomen over 65 do not need a Pap smear unless there is a history of two or three abnormal test results in the last 5 to 10 years, or if there is a history of dysplasia or cervical cancer.
- Colon CancerThe bone marrow may not be able to produce and replace red blood cells fast enough if a large amount of blood is lost due to bleeding. Substantial blood loss can result from serious traumatic accidents or from complications from surgery or childbirth. Anemia can result if a small amount of blood is lost over a long period of time. This may occur in females with heavy menstrual periods and people with inflammatory bowel disease or colon cancer.

I was once a patient and everything I mean everything was awesome. It is very clean and the staff shows great hospitality. I always felt like I was at home while there and upon leaving I was always satisfied. Tamika happens to be one of the best in the office. The providers and staff were very professional and willing to assist with whatever was going on in the office. I noticed that Dr. Davis-Williams was very knowledgeable, and helped me be at easy during my exam.
I had the most beautiful pregnancy journey while being a patient of GAWHC. My last experience with another practice was not the best, but I felt much more comfortable this time around. From Dr. Eaton's bedside manner to identifying/addressing pre-term labor complications, the staff truly went the last mile to ensure we delivered a healthy baby girl.
My visits were timely and the staff worked with my schedule for both morning and noon appointments. There was even a day that I called the office because I wasn't feeling my baby kick as much and they brought me right in. The physician's assistant didn't brush me off and say drink some water and call back, she acknowledged my anxiety and addressed it immediately!
Delivered all 3 of my babies! Great OB office, conveniently located at what was formerly known as Crawford Long Hospital. Now that I am no longer in the reproductive mode, I find that GYN visits can often be delayed by urgent OB issues. This office is fantastic if you're still in baby making years, but you might want to seek something else if you've moved on to routine GYN care and value your time.
