Personally very nice man, witty and interesting. But since the purpose of my visit was not a social call, I have to give a low rating here. Don't think he tried to listen when I explained what I would like to do with color and insisted to go along with his judgment, always stressing how he's an expert. While the color is kind of nice, it's the opposite of what I asked for, hardly noticeable vs. the contrast I requested. I had gone along with it, maybe given the web writeups I had read I secretly was hoping for a miracle. Should have known better, wasn't shown a color sample of hair which is usual practice is salons. The haircut was a basic trim along the bottom, zero work around long layers. By that time I didn't feel like arguing since I knew I'd have to get someone else to fix this later and I was close to tears. The prices are low but representative of the work. Pains me to write this but it's my honest experience.

I saw his ad in the Mountain Express and was a bit skeptical of the legitimacy of his claims since he only charges $16 and most people with that experience would charge in upwards of $50. I stopped by the place on my way home last week and was even more skeptical as I walked in to the 12x12 hole in the wall. He greeted me with a friendly smile and I told him I was skeptical and curious about his services. He asked me if I had time for a consultation and I told him my problems with my hair and he quickly diagnosed my problem (mineral buildup), told me he would wash my hair at no-cost and apply a deep-conditioner to help break down the build-up and repair my hair. I was pleasantly surprised, and shocked at the way my hair felt afterward. I came back a few days later for a hair-cut and he was very sensitive to my needs and concerns. I had a great hair-cut, great customer service and would recommend him to anyone, especially if you have "problem" hair.
