We recommend that you call your insurance company to verify that we participate with your plan as well as any referral requirements, copays, deductibles or other network requirements from your insurance plan. If you have an HMO or an insurance plan that requires a primary care provider (PCP) referral or authorization, please verify that the referral has been sent to our office prior to your appointment. Lack of referral may result in your appointment being rescheduled.
Emergency Care
When you get emergency care or are treated by an out-of-network provider at an in-network hospital or ambulatory surgical center, you are protected from balance billing. In these cases, you shouldn't be charged more than your plan's copayments, coinsurance and/or deductible.
Urinary Incontinence
Urodynamic Testing (aka Cystometrograms) are specialized tests that are performed to diagnose Urinary Incontinence. This procedure is performed in the office and usually takes less than 30 minutes. A catheter is placed in the bladder and the bladder is filled with sterile water. Pressure readings are obtained by the catheter during the procedure. During this test, the patient may be asked to cough or “bear down” to determine if leaking of urine occurs. The test is pain free and easy to interpret. These tests help your Matlock provider determine the cause of urinary incontinence.

Gynecology
Sonograms are also widely used in gynecology to rule out abnormalities of the breasts and pelvic organs. Many of these sonograms are performed by Matlock providers, others are performed by outside sonographers. Information obtained can include size and position of the uterus or ovaries, presence of cysts or masses, fibroid tumors (benign tumors on the uterus) or other abnormalities.

Endometriosis
Each year 600,000 women in the United States undergo hysterectomies to treat a range of conditions. A hysterectomy is most commonly performed because of uterine fibroids, abnormal uterine bleeding, endometriosis, or uterine prolapse. Approximately 10% of hysterectomy procedures are performed due to cancer.
Pregnancy
Ultrasound examinations (also known as Sonograms) are widely used in womenâ€™s health. Sonograms are safe and pain-free. Generally, we will recommend at least one ultrasound be performed to check for fetal growth, fetal numbers, dating of the pregnancy, and other information helpful in following your pregnancy. Repeat sonograms are often necessary during a high risk pregnancy to reevaluate the fetal growth.
Labor and Delivery
Genuine Stress Incontinence – usually due to childbirth, this condition often causes loss of urine with straining, coughing or sneezing.

Cervical Cancer
Helps diagnose cervical dysplasia (abnormal cells that can lead to cervical cancer), typically discovered through PAP testing. Cervical dysplasia is caused the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV). Patients with moderate to severe dysplasia may require an office procedure called Loop Excision of the Cervix.

Ultrasound
Another option is a specialized ultrasound that involves instilling saline into the uterine cavity to visualize polyps and fibroids that may be a cause of bleeding irregularities. This is usually called a "SIS."
Radiology
When you get services from an in-network hospital or ambulatory surgical center, certain providers there may be out-of-network. In these cases, the most those providers can bill you is your plan's in-network cost-sharing amount. This applies to emergency medicine, anesthesia, pathology, radiology, laboratory, neonatology, assistant surgeon, hospitalist, or intensivist services. These providers can't balance bill you and may not ask you to give up your protections not to be balance billed.
