Crown Reduction
Storm Damage Cleanup
When the weather in Alaska decides to wreak havoc on your landscape, rely on PTS which offers all of your storm cleanup needs. We are available 24/7 to make sure that whenever you need us, we will be there. Remember: Pruning can help reduce the risk of damage to your trees by allowing increased airflow and less snow-loading which are two of the most preventable reasons trees fail during storms.
Tree Planting
We also pledge to donate 1% of our gross profits to American Forests to replant trees. The great part about American Forests is that they run re-foresting projects right here in Alaska so that our money stays right here in the state.
Our goal is to provide safe, affordable tree care. We have been serving Alaska since 2007 and want to make sure you are our next satisfied customer.
Tree Cabling and Bracing
Cabling involves placing a cable connecting two or more leads of a tree together. This is done to reinforce weak crotches that may fail during a storm or are showing signs of decay.Installing a cable is the best way to minimize the risk and is an option rather than removal of the tree. Bracing is the inserting of a rod through the crotch of a tree to help reinforce the cable above. Cabling can be done without bracing but a brace should never be installed without a cable.
Arborist Services
The International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) is an organization that promotes the professional practice of arboriculture. Hiring a certified arborist means that you know you are hiring a reputable company that is held to a code of ethics. This ensures proper techniques are used at all times as well as maintaining a higher level of professionalism in the industry.
Land Clearing
If you need to remove a dozen trees to make room for a new deck, or if you need to clear a whole property, PTS will work with you to make sure you get the best price to fit into your budget.
Tree Mulching
Placing mulch on the base of the tree will increase the amount of moisture that is retained right up against the bark which can lead to more fungus growing on the tree. Always make sure that the mulch is not piled right next to the base of the tree.
With grass comes mowing and this means the increased likelihood of mechanical damage to the roots and/or trunk of the tree by either a lawnmower or weed whacker. Creating a Tree ring around of the base of your tree prevents damage and also keeps the soil moist and is a way to provide the tree with nutrients. They can also add another dimension to your landscaping. Ask PTS about installing tree rings today!
