It is a nice place to get food...

It is a nice place to get food. Albeit the employees can be a bit rude sometimes, that is a result of working all day with rude customers. I've been there a couple of times when people complain over nothing and it annoyed even I.

The food is okay, considering it is fast food which is deep fat fried. I talked to one of the managers about health concerns and found that they strive for cleanliness to keep the food maintained. I asked about gloves and was told that in the state of Oklahoma that you're not required to wear gloves as long as you have a sanitizing system in place. They wash and sanitize every 30 minutes and even many times in between. Also, there are no instances in which someone has spit in the food or done anything to it. They are not even allowed to joke about it. I've asked a couple of friends who used to be employees there. If they even say a word about it they are given disciplinary action. It's no joke there. They take pride in having food that has not been tampered with. Though, with every single restaurant there will be rumors. It happens.

The inside of the restaurant is kind of bad, but considering that the building has been there for over twenty-years and is basically crumbling, I can let that slide. Besides, a new store is going to be on the way soon.

Inside service is not always speedy, and I can understand that because most of the time they are waiting for fresh food. You run out of food from time to time and have to cook it fresh, which is no problem. Sometimes a worker simply forgets that there is food to be handed out and all you have to do is simply walk over and ask about it and they will sincerely apologize and get it to you.

Drive-Thru is another story, though. You drive up, and depending on how busy they are you either get answered right away or it takes a bit. They will usually say "One moment please" so that they can get back to the register to devote their time to taking your order. There can be a lot of background noise in the restaurant which means sometimes they cannot hear you as well and may not be able to get your order right. Make sure you look on the screen and if you see any thing wrong be sure to tell them in a nice manner. That maintains their mood and yours. If the screen doesn't work, tell them and they will read it back to you. Once that is finished, you move around to the window. Depending on the two workers in drive-thru, how much food the people in front of you ordered, and how busy they are, you will either move through fast or very slow. Sometimes they may be waiting on food, and will ask you to park so that they may get the other customers through. The main point is to get cars out as fast as they can, not sit there and wait for one individual person. Then everyone behind you is waiting and will get cranky, wondering what your hold up is. I am glad to park, because that means I am getting fresh food. If you are asked to drive back around the building and into another parking spot you may see that there is a No Left Turn sign. Don't worry, that is put there by McDonald's to help regulate traffic and is not enforced in any way. If you must pull across the street, you will pull a sharp turn right and right into a stop light. If you're an okay driver, this is no problem. It's as if you're pulling into a parking space. Then you turn right again and into the small cement parking spaces there. Honestly, there are not many things wrong with this restaurant. Every restaurant has their bad employees, some are rude for no reason.

Basically, it's fast food, not instant, and if you're in a big hurry and they're busy, you might as well wait until later.

I apologize that this is so long, but I wanted to write a non-biased, non-emotionally induced review based on assumptions a bad experience based on my own selfishness. Thank you.

I have eaten at Alva's McDonal...

I have eaten at Alva's McDonald's several times, both in store at drive thru. First thing, it is a bad idea to use the drive thru! After paying I am often to pull into a parking spot and wait on my food. Even if I am ordering a small meal for one person. Why? The order for the car behind me is not ready either so why should I have to make a complicated turn in a narrow drive thru to park and then risk backing into waiting cars when I leave.

Then when leaving the parking lot you cannot make a left turn. You must attempt to make a sharp right turn to a traffic light. Not even a professional racecar driver could successfully make the turn without part of the car sticking out in the othe lane.

The experience that sparks this review however was an in store visit. The resturaunt was not crowded so I did not wait long to order. I ordered my food and the cashier walked off before I even scanned my card to pay. Not too big of a deal just slightly annoying because I needed my receipt.

As I watched a man make my burger I realized he wore only ONE glove! I then proceeded to watch him put on the cheese and top bun with his ungloved hand! Absolutely disguisting! I would have made them remake the burger but I was afraid something worse would end up in it if I complained.

To top the cake, the cashier brought my food and asked if I wanted ketchup. I told her I did then she turned around and walked away to talk to one of her coworkers without getting my ketchup! After all this I completely forgot to ask for my receipt (which I never should have had to do in the first place) so now I have to record of the transaction!

Mcdonald's Park-thru!!!!

Are you hungry? Going to get "fast food" in Alva because you are in a hurry, or do not want to wait in line?? What is Faster and tastier than a world famous" Mcdonalds" Drive-Thru ???

YOU ALL KNOW THE DRILL!!!

Pull up to the menu, and order up your favorite meal deal!!! Then pull up to the window, Pay for your order, and BAM!!!! food is in your hands and your ready to go, Right?

WRONG!!!!!!!

Pulling up to the window at Mcdonald's in Alva, Oklahoma and you get a greasy smile as your told a number...($16.84 in my case) and with hands open, the fat sweaty clerk gestures for a credit card or cash. swipes it like shes trying to cut the machine in half, And hands you the card back..

"WE are waiting on some fresh french fries" Can you please pull over there?

no big deal right? they have two Yellow striped parking places.. and its worth the wait for fresh fries!!!!!

WRONG AGAIN!!!!

you look over, only to realize the spots are full, and you tell the clerk,

"hey! those spots are full ! "

"Just pull in the lot across the street and we will bring your food to you"

Ok, I guess thats still worth it.....

As you pull forward to the street, you look around and realize you have to make a really, really sharp right and still stop for the red light.. when you finally get strait and facing the light, you realize you are actually dangerously in the middle of a buzy intersection... Glad theres not a cop around...

whew!!!

As you turn right into the packed parking lot across the street, you see the manager dart across the street, food in hand and hand the car 5 spaces over a bag and a cup...and a quick "Sorry for the wait!"

LONG, LONG, story short,

your parked, and left waiting 15 minutes, only to get your food, drive off, and reach in the bag and grab your cold and dry fries..
