Baptist Convalescent Center of Newport, founded in 1952, offers a range of services to patients and their families. Located in Newport, Ky., the center has more than 160 residents in the nursing home level of care. It has an advanced nursing facility that provides 24 hour nursing care services by licensed professional personnel and nursing assistant staff. The center also has a therapy unit staffed by licensed professional therapists in physical, occupational, speech and respiratory therapies. It also provides a secure residential environment for those with special needs due to some memory impairment. The center is licensed by the state of Kentucky at the personal care level. The meals are prepared in the on-site kitchen with special diets planned for each individual resident with the assistance and guidance of a licensed dietician. The facility also has its own handicapped accessible vehicles to provide residents with access to activities away from the facility.
