BJ's Restaurants

We had a party of 12. We called 3 weeks before the date of the party and tried to make reservations. The manager who answered the phone said they would not be making reservations for the 1st 3 months of operation, but to call the day of the party and they would work with us. The day of the party we called BJ's and was told they do not do call ahead seating for party's of 9 or more. What restaurant does not require reservations for a large party , but do call ahead seating for smaller tables!! So we went at 5:00pm and was told the wait time for a party of 12 would be 2 hours. I told the manager who was at the welcome stand that they should think about doing reservations for larger parties. It would be good customer service. He proceeded to tell me that is bad business to take reservations for parties because it's not fair for everyone else. I couldn't believe this! What restaurant does not want to prepare for a large party. He told me that if we split up our party we would be seated a lot sooner. So I agreed to splitting us up... he told me our wait time would be an hour and a half. The manager was so rude. He basically told us he did not need our business or our party. We left and will not be back! In a year when the newness of the restaurant has worn off, they will wish they would have provided better customer service.
