Mother of the Groom

My son held his wedding reception at the Quail Farm in October and I would be remiss not to share some thoughts on the lovely evening. Guests are still calling to offer compliments on the delicious food. After taking pictures in the beautiful Music Room, the couple made a grand entrance into the reception hall via the flowered covered stairwell. Almost 300 guests had ample spaces to sit inside near the band, upstairs or outside. Mr d'Bettencourt, the owner called several days before the event to review all details and to ask if all of our " wish list" was being addressed. When the happy couple drove off, we all marvelled on just how perfect everything had been. We are grateful to the Quail Farm staff for all they did to create such a memory!

no.. to weddings here

early this dec. 2012 I had chance to atend a dear friends wedding, while at this location I got appeach my an old mean man , yelling at me to close the door that was behind me , to my surprise I found out it was the owner (who was wearing everyday wear n sandals). he than ran to dj to yell at him in front of everyone. I would never have my wedding here cause of his sour attitude plus the FOOD SUCKS n theres a huge hole in the wall where it looks like water damage got to it ! with that note, I heard bad things about this venue from my other friends how

the "owner" didnt take their weddings seriously, one friend said she told he multiple times to cut the grass which on her wedding day the wedding party had to quickly CUT it there selves.. w

My daughters wedding and recep...

My daughters wedding and reception was held at the Abita Quail Farm in August 2012. . Many thanks to the D Hemecourts! Everyone had a great time, the facilities were spacious with plenty of room for all the invites. The food was superb, made from scratch. No other wedding/reception hall can match the food quality. A wonderful memory.

What happened to my "special" day?

My husband and I had both our wedding and reception at the Abita Quail Farm. The beauty of the place called my name! I fell in-love with the venue at my first meeting with the owner. However, that quickly changed. As a young bride with no wedding planner, planning a wedding can be very stressful and I feel as though the owner took full advantage of the situation. At our meeting two weeks before the wedding, the owner not only made me cry but told me that I could not be excused to go to the restroom because he had a meeting right after mine. After our wedding, all of the bridal party, immediate family and photographers packed into a beautiful room overlooking a giant pond. The only problem was that the room was dark because no lights were on. My husband (the groom) opened a door and found a light switch. As he reached to flip the switch on, the owner walked up and SLAPPED him on the hand (asif he were a child!) When my husband got upset with the owner, the owner threatened to call the police and have the groom arrested on his own wedding night. After the hand slapping, the evening went downhill. I was never offered anything to eat or drink. I didn't have a single sip of water or bite of food at my own wedding reception!! The owner practically hid the rest of the evening. It was a drama-filled evening.
