Vet and company are one the best. Where else can you go to get cat diagnosed and current updates on Indonesia’s ban on cooking oil?! Ole time practice where the doc examines specimens in microscope, the tools of his trade are hanging in the rooms, and the receptionist offers you a cleaning brush for your cat haired shirt.

Dr.Bowen is an excellent vet. He has seen every dog I have ever had. He knows his business and treats our pets with care. We had a yellow lab mix for 14 yrs and he treated him the full 14 yrs. Unfortunately my dog had a bad thing happen, his stomach twisted and I called Dr Bowen on a Saturday night way after office hours and he met me at his office to look at my dog and he found that his stomach had twisted and would need surgery by a vet in Greenville, SC but said surgery was gonna run thousands of dollars which I did not have and I told Dr. Bowen that so he gave my dogs a shot for pain because he told me that at the most my dog had a few hours to live but he made his last few hours pain free. Now before this episode happened a year before to be exact this same dog had a heat stroke and it happened on a Saturday evening so I called Dr Bowen then and he met me at his office to treat my dog for the heat stroke and he saved my dog that night. I totally trust Dr.Bowen with my dogs because he is awesome and his staff , 1 lady is very caring and so sweet to my dogs. His practice is the best! I fully recommend Bowen Animal hospital.

First impressions are everything! From the moment I stepped foot into the clinic I knew I made the wrong decision in going there. The place was old, dirty, smelled horrible, and had extension cords hanging from the ceilings in various places. The receptionist was not friendly nor did she show the slightest interest in my sick dog, who I might add was terrified. Usually the receptionists at veterinary offices welcome you and say hello to your pet to put them at ease offering a biscuit or just a pet.
I waited 25 minutes for the inept doctor to finally come into the office. He didn't greet my dog but instead was ready to run for a muzzle to put her up on the table. Luna my lab is a timid rescue who was in pain because of an infected paw. I had to lift my 65 pound dog onto the table myself. He didn't offer to help even when he saw I was struggling. He then asked me various question none of which were relevant. I don't know how she injured her paw but alas it was clearly infected. He took her temperature and then started palpating her elbows and then down to her digits on her paw. Apparently he was waiting for her to yelp when he got the painful part. Seriously???!! He then shaved the area for a better look. Clearly the area was red and swollen. That says infection to me. I was smart enough to bring a ziploc bag filled with medications I had in the house from my amazing past vet's clinic in New York, Animal General. Dr. Bowen wanted to switch the antibiotics because he liked his better and I would need to give her tablets per day. Did he think I was born yesterday? He wanted to sell me his meds. I declined and told him I would use my Clavamox. He then wanted to prescribe pain meds and ointment, all of which I already had.
I might also tell you that he got irritated with me because I kept touching my dog to keep her calm and because I tried to rush him along because Luna was at the end of her rope.
I could go on but you get the idea. DON'T GO!!!!
