Our providers and staff are dedicated to providing the latest knowledge and technology to the management and treatment of the skin problems and cosmetic treatment of children, adolescents, and adults. Dr. Jenifer Lloyd has been extensively trained in dermatology, internal medicine, and advanced skin surgery, as well as the latest laser techniques. The laser services available at the center can correct or improve many skin defects and significantly modify the skin’s visible signs of aging. In some cases, the “Mirror Image” computer photography system will be used to document “before and after” photos.

Chemotherapy
Over the past 25 years, latent viral infection was discovered in a much larger segment of the population. It only became clinically significant when the immune system was suppressed by the AIDS virus or chemotherapy. It appears more as a tissue reaction pattern than a true malignancy. Interestingly, widespread disease can regress completely when chemotherapy is discontinued, and the immune system is allowed to recover.

Gangrene
Arterial ulcers are the third and most difficult ulcers to manage. They result from inflammatory vasculitis of many varied etiologies. Embolization (blocks the flow of blood) can be caused by a blood clot, cholesterol, tumor or arteriosclerosis (thickening and hardening of the arterial walls). An obstructive block (total occlusion) can lead to gangrene (death of tissue). Without sufficient blood supply, tissue dies, and the body is unable to heal these ulcers. Peripheral vascular surgeons are usually required to deal with these problems.

Skin Cancer
Squamous Cell cancers are the second most frequent form of skin cancer, representing about 20% of all skin cancers diagnosed. These cancers typically appear on any light exposed areas of the body, but are particularly common on the face, balding scalp, and upper extremities. A familial tendency for this type of cancer is a predominant factor. However, heavy sun exposure, burns, and radiation injuries are also common precursors of squamous cell cancers.

Eczema
Hand dermatitis is among the most common conditions treated by dermatologists.
