My cat was failing, we had to take him during the height of Covid. So naturally there was a long wait, but everything was handled very well, and the doc called on my cell phone to discuss everything. So grateful for a true emergency hospital during such a bad situation!

Provided by SuperpagesIf I could give no stars, I would. Please please do NOT take your pet to Valley Vet Emergency Center in Winchester, VA. They are all inexperienced and heartless. They killed my cat. Our regular vet said a sedative could be harmful and they gave him one anyway. I’m fairly certain they sent us home with a dead cat after $700 later. They won’t refund any of my money. I have heard they are very money hungry.

The doctors at this place do not know what they are doing. I took my cat in after she had a stroke and they ran all kinds of blood work and said that she just had the beginning of kidney disease and diabetes and sent me home after a $500 bill. My cat died a few hours later. After speaking with a different doctor I found out that she had a stroke and died from complications of that stroke. All doctors should be able to recognize the signs of a stroke and the doctors at Valley Emergency Vet didn't recognize those signs. I do not want to pay higher fees just because they are an emergency vet if they don't know what they are doing.

Provided by SuperpagesExtremely disappointed! The Veterinarian on duty early May 22, 2012 showed a blatant lack of compassion, coupled by the fact that her knowledge of reproductive medicine was textbook at best. She treated me as if I were as uneducated as the grass growing out in the parking lot. Her only concern was in how much I could afford to spend on my dogs care, rather than my dog itself. I explained to her that cost was NOT a factor. She took over hour to 45 minutes dwelling on the paperwork I had completed, the staff could very well have taken care of the data entry while she tended to my dog. I called VVERC at 3am, asked if they could perform an emergency c-section as my primary vet could not at this time, due to rainfall in past 12 hours, flooding his clinic & rendering it unusable. Requested specific anesthesia protocol suited to brachycephalic breeds, she made it clear that she did not feel that I, nor my DVM who specializes in K9 repro, worthy of such input. Go somewhere more caring!!!

Provided by SuperpagesAbsolutely wonderful clinic!! We had to visit under very difficult circumstances. Everyone at this clinic did everything they could to help us and our little Kosmo. I will always be grateful to the professionals at this clinic for their compassionate care and kindness we found there.

Provided by SuperpagesWe cant begin to put into words, how much we appreciate the kindness from all the staff, Dr. Langenbachs thorough review and time that she took explaining what our dog needed done, understanding of our many phone calls checking on our dog immediately following the surgery, and surgery that has left us with our best friend being his old self again......demanding, sassy, and happy!!!

Provided by SuperpagesExtremely compassionate, caring, and informative. Additionally, they tailored their care to my needs, making sure that I could afford what they prescribed. The area is lucky to have a 24-hour vet clinic with quality service.

Provided by SuperpagesI would trade uber-professional for a very compassionate staff anyday. They were sensitive to my and my dogs needs. Gilbert was diagnosed correctly, they addressed his pain immediately by making him comfortable by relieving the fluid from around his heart, and they made all the arrangements to refer him to a cardiologist in Leesburg. Even more telling...this was not his first visit to the ER and he goes willingly each time. The staff are kind and sympathetic; they like animals and it shows. As to the previous reviewers comment; If you are forced to make a heart-pounding drive to the emergency vet in the middle of the night, cost should not be the issue.

Provided by SuperpagesVery rude and unprofessional girls. Did not seem to care about my dogs stomach issues except to give estimates how much it was gonna cost me in tests and SURGERY, over a thousand dollars. I felt I was getting ripped off, so I left. A day later my dog was fine and my vet told me he probably had GAS.
