Overall

Though the physician and PA I worked with here were pleasant and helpful, I would not recommend this facility. I had a simple follow-up appointment yesterday at 4:30pm and was not seen until 5:10pm. Then, I was charged more than my co-pay when checking out. I asked why this was since I had not been charged more when I had been seen for my first appointment -- I was told that they had a new billing system and that they now had direct access to my plan and that I had co-insurance.

This did not sound right to me, so I called my insurance and they confirmed that this information was incorrect and that I only should have been charged a co-pay. I called back the billing department and the representative who helped me raised her voice when I was asking questions about the discrepancy in billing, stating that it was my insurance company's fault for giving them incorrect information. I tried to understand what she was saying because it wasn't aligning with information I was given, which led her to raise her voice more. It was very rude.

I asked how to get the discrepancy resolved and was told that they use a billing company now and that they would correct the overpayment. I asked about the turnaround time for this and she said she didn't know and that I would have to call the 1-800 number for the billing department.

This entire experience left a very bad taste in my mouth. No one likes to be treated like a dollar sign and that's exactly how I felt. Good clinical staff can't overcome rude and incompetent billing and administrative staff in my mind. I'm never coming back here.

Do not go here if you have any...

Do not go here if you have any pressing concerns (other than looking younger) I wouldn't go here ever again. Horrible experience, had possible Skin Cancer scare, they set me up with a Nurse Practitioner, that turned on a desk lamp and said that "I was fine." And preceded to hand me some Skin Cancer Brochures and told me to go up to the front desk and pay, I wasn't very happy, since there is a history of skin cancer in my family, logically I don't think using a DESK LAMP to look at someone's possible Melanoma and handing them Skin Cancer Pamphlets and telling them to come back in a year is the right thing to do. (so I pressed the issue, and finally got to see the actual Doctor..He was professional, put on his magnifying light etc. and said "Yes, this does need to be checked out." Interesting that 3 minutes earlier I was told "I was fine" by the Nurse Practitioner who looked at the mole with NO medical Instruments... and to go up to the front desk and pay! I was here for a MEDICAL concern (not vanity!) that's sad. The place is concerned with making a buck. It's fine if your a Botox Mom and want to look at the "beautiful atmosphere". But if you actually have a pressing health concern, forget about it. They were more concerned with getting you out the door (unless you wanted a full body skin cancer examine) by a Nurse Practitioner- No thanks. Not impressed at all. Whatever happened to being treated with a little respect and a respectable "bed side manner" I think that went by the wayside a long time ago...now you have 25 year olds that think that they are important because they dress up in scrubs and went to a Tech School for a Year - they should teach them in Tech School that it's important to be courteous and look people in the eyes and brush up on some interpersonal skills, that's where you could start. Not to mention the obvious....it's just bad business to treat people differently, irregardless if they are black, white, insured, uninsured, with improper medical diagnoses people can die...if that matters to you, Bottom Line, Shameful
