suckitude

run do not walk from this place. my mouth still hurts after recieving treatment here 6 months ago. it felt completely unprofessional, i was numbed up and left unattended for what seemed like hours. i have spent alot of $ to fix what they were supposed to fix, and have never been so disappointed in the care that i recieved, ever. never write reviews, but wish i had read some about this place before i decided to go there. save yourself a major toothache and alot of $ and go elsewhere. i would give it negative stars if i could.

Overall
Disappointed

First of all, I'm a 30 yr old female and I have a severe phobia of ALL dentists and prone to major anxiety attacks. Secondly, I haven't had any dental insurance for about 5 yrs. Knowing that I really should see an affordable dentist I chose the Comfort Dental near my house. It's a fairly new facility, opening in 2009.

I really liked the front office staff a lot. They explained things to me clearly and were very pleasant. They did their job well. However, things took a wrong turn when I got to the back rooms where the action happens.

On the day of my very first appointment, scheduled a week in advance, they were not prepared to give me the nitrous oxide I required. They said their oxygen tank leaked and they couldn't give me any gas at that time. But they still wanted to go through with giving me the novocain shots they knew I couldn't handle.

I demanded my $800 back and rescheduled another week in advance. This time the dentist prescribed me 2 mg of valium for the next one. They might as well have been sugar pills for all the good they did.

The pill never kicked in, the gas was weak at best, I still had an anxiety attack in the chair when the doc administered the 4 shots of novocain. Those shots only seemed to numb my face and did almost nothing for my gums. I felt everything and was fully aware of my most uncomfortable surroundings. Plus, we had to take several breaks so I could stop crying, shaking and hyperventilating.

And to top it all off, the dental hygienist and doctor seemed annoyed with ME (the paying customer) when I requested more gas for the "deep scaling". Which I do not believe was done properly. There wasn't any polishing or scraping. They basically used a water pick and my teeth/gums do not feel as clean as they should be after an expensive procedure like that.

I have several more procedures to go through in the month ahead. And I'm not sure how I'll be able to walk through that door again on my own free will.

I'll end this by saying the doc was easy on the eyes and seemed like a nice person. The music was soothing and helped a little bit. And they did give me a thermal blanket so I could stop shaking.

I miss my old dentist who had to retire. He was old school and didn't know how to operate the "happy gas" tank, so you always got a slight overdose which was awesome! I never had a panic attack in his office. He'd clean your teeth so good they'd hurt for a week! Now, that's how it's done right.
