Daugherty Automotive

I bought an engine from Mat Daugherty of Daugherty Automotive. He said he had tested it before pulling it, and that it worked. He even wrote a guarantee for a full refund if it didn't start up, no problems. When the engine was installed and didn't run, we contacted him immediately. He said he would come and look at it, avoided our calls for a week, and never came. When we tried to take it back, he disappeared for a week. After he had dodged us for 3 weeks, I texted him that we were going to have to go to court and- low and behold- he got back to me immediately. He said he needed a few days to get the refund money together. That was last week. 6 more calls and 4 more texts later, I haven't heard anything. I have tried to work with him for a month, but I guess I will have to go to court to get my money back from him. For now, we are stuck with this overpriced paper weight of an engine, and his "guarantee" that isn't worth the paper it's written on. Buyer beware! Do not trust this man! He will leave you high and dry!
